It's getting worse and worse every year! It was mine and my family's favorite place but then they degraded food quality and freshness. And then, they started pre-cut the chicken shewarma and serve it from the container and it would be either dry or cold. It never is what it used to be. Because of that, we started ordering kefta kebap plate. At least kefta kebap was cooked to order fresh. But now, they even serve kefta kebap pre-cooked out of container. I could not believe this... Also, they don't even give you two pittas with your plate order which they used to do, just a couple of months ago. Each extra pita bread costs you .90 cents. WOW... No restaurant charge you extra for extra bread in America, but Naf Naf. And then, they put all these inexperienced people and teenagers behind the counter and a lot of times they mess up your order or forget it completely. It's turning into a McDonald's. It's a shame that they're changing for the worse istead of keeping what made them very successful... I have never thought that I would leave a bad review about Naf Naf but here I am.
*Response to customer care below...
I don't need to send an email to your customer service. I already said what is wrong with your restaurant, food, service and inexperienced people behind the counter preparing the food in plain English. What else do you want me to say?
Your response to every unhappy loyal customer has been the same... This shows that you guys don't really care about fixing the problems. But instead, you try to look good on Google reviews that you are responding customers and in return creating a buzz... Nice try! I guess you are following the old marketing tactic that says "Every PR is good even...
Read moreWell, I've never eaten at Naf Naf before and never will now. I placed a $20 lunch order for delivery on Friday. About 25 minutes before my order was supposed to be here I got an email (not even a phone call) stating that my delivery was cancelled, my order would be refunded, and to call the store location with any questions or concerns (also provided the store's number in the email). I've checked my bank account every day since Friday (we are now on the 4th business day) and the charge has posted, but there is no refund to be found. I called the store yesterday per the instructions in the email and some guy told me I had to call corporate instead. He gave me "corporate's" number, but it rang to someone's cell phone and was not corporate at all. I called back to get the correct number, the same guy answered, put me on hold, and then a lady got on the phone saying she couldn't help me because they were busy and had a lunch rush. I told her I just needed corporate's number, she ignored me and told me again that she was much too busy to help me and that I needed to go on the website to get help if I wanted help. I filled out a customer service form yesterday on the website and still NO response or help from anyone. $20 on a LUNCH is a lot of money! Are they just going to steal my money? I'm going to call my bank and dispute them to get my money back since the restaurant clearly has NO customer service skills whatsoever and clearly doesn't care about righting their wrongs. Too bad, I spend money on lunch every single day and most days for dinner as well, they just lost a possible...
Read moreI have been going to Naf Naf since they first opened for business on Ogden in the old Taco Bell building. They were always packed and it was always tough to dine in at that location. I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review.
The new location off of Freedom Drive has a fantastic modern look and feel and plenty of space to dine-in. I have been to both the Freedom Drive location and the location on the outer drive of Fox Valley Mall and the consistency across both locations is on-point!
Their pita bread is baked fresh and when you get them, they are hot and fluffy. I generally get the Chicken Shawarma when I go there. Like a great Gyro place, they slice it fresh off the spit and put the meat on the grill to brown. However, they don't overcook the meat and it is juicy and tender.
Their Falafel's and Hummus are phenomenal. Order a Hummus platter with pita's and falafel and you'll be in heaven.
The one thing I love the most about Naf-Naf are their homemade thinly sliced french fries. They are absolutely amazing and I always choose the fries over the rice.
Be sure to top off your pita sandwiches with Basmati Salad, Tahini Sauce, Garlic Sauce or S'khug. All are tasty compliments to add to any dinner or sandwich.
By far, my favorite Mediterranean restaurant to go to.
To sum it up, Naf Naf is to Mediterranean what Portillo's is to an American Grill....
