Reply: So firstly it’s not really true that they had things spelled out on social media. I looked on Instagram and there’s nothing. I also posted in the picture section the promotion- no disclaimer, no explanation just Free Drink and Free Dessert. I didn’t really see anything stated in the store or counter because I was looking unless it was so hidden that it’s not noticeable. Even if the store has something it’s a tactic of bait and switch because it lures people in unethically.

And I do recommend going to Paris Baguette instead or Delice et Chocolat in Ardmore! Nice people, great pastries and no shady business tactics.

Original Post: So the pastries are good and the tea was really nice on a hot day. Yet it still cannot erase the bitter taste of bad business practices which is what the one star is for. On google they had a coupon for free drink and dessert stating it was valid 6/29/20-7/31/20 and nothing else. This is very misleading because firstly the employee wasn’t sure what I was talking about at first then proceed to say it’s for $20+ purchase. When we got the $20 purchase she only gave us the drink. When asked for the free dessert she states then that we need to spend $30+.

Also there was a 10% off coupon which when asked it was for “special orders only” which was never stated on the coupon.

All these misleading advertisements suggests tactics of bait and switch which misleads consumers to go in.

I prefer a clean pair of gloves when handling my food. The cashier grabbed my cakes with no gloves, now they do have plastic sheets on the sides but the back of the cake is exposed. Further, when I opened the box, one of the cakes was turned on its exposed back with the black handle that she grabbed with her bare hand stuck into the back of the cakes. Not sanitary! The cake slices are at least eight dollars each, so It would have been better service had she gotten me a new cake instead of just leaving it smooshed on its back with the other cake’s handle stuck into the back. I was going to show my friends pictures of how pretty the cakes are but much to my surprise the smooshed one ruined the presentation. Please ensure the employees use a fresh pair of gloves when grabbing and boxing cakes and if they get smooshed in the process, let the customer know and offer a new cake. They cost too much...
