🦀 Ryan Christopher's - Narberth - We had a most delightful meal at the cozy and charming Ryan Christopher's. I was jonesing for soft-shells crabs and after some googling and yelping couldn't find much besides places downtown. I made a few calls and they confirmed they did have them today. They served complimentary bread with a lovely pesto-olive oil dip. Ambience-wise it was nice to be able to sit outside and watch the neighborhood scene outside on a lovely almost-summer evening. Our server was Kim, who was quite personable and friendly. 🥓 We had the bacon-wrapped scallops, soft-shell crabs over a butter-garlic sauce on a bed of pasta, crab cakes with cheesy mashed potatoes, 🥔 "fish and chips" which was actually grilled grouper with latkes. 🐟 We brought our own peach Moscato which paired perfectly with everything. Portions were pretty generous. We all really enjoyed our meals. My shrunken human REALLY loved this place and give it a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review. He asked this morning when we could go back. He was enjoying the food so much he forgot to demand to have screen time during our meal. Very lovely and...
Read moreThis was my first visit to this BYOB and I have to say it was quite the culinary experience. I started with the roasted beets and burrata. I've had this dish in several restaurants and their version is by far the best I've ever had. The beets were perfectly roasted and the balsamic reduction was an excellent compliment. I could have easily ordered another and been happy to use that as my entrée. But I didn't.
Then I had the sesame salmon with Wasabi mashed potatoes. The only way to describe the dish was I wish I had room for another. The salmon was cooked just right. It was juicy and flaky and the potatoes were a perfect match.
Our waitress Loretta was friendly, attentive and helpful even though it was a busy Friday night. I will be going back to sample other fare...
Read moreWanted to love this place, but there's a few things a bit off. My wife suggested to go here for our anniversary. It was more casual than I had expected, but my expectations were based on what I thought my wife wanted for an anniversary dinner. The food was very good, and the desserts were excellent. However the dining room was cramped/crowded and a bit loud. My wife and I were seated next to each other at a table for 4, rather than across from each other at a table for 2. I understand why, it kept the aisle to the kitchen clear for staff rather than have them squeeze past/bump into me all night. It wasn't so bad except I kept having to ask her to speak up and repeat things to hear her. The staff was very friendly...
