This gem of a restaurant is tucked away in a little corner of the complex that K&S Market is located in. But if you ever consider venturing in, you'll be in for a pleasant surprise. It is nothing fancy and you won't get a chatty server but if you want a flavorful yet super affordable meal you will be glad you stopped by.
There are many Pho restaurants in Nashville but no one can come close to their generous $7.95 Pho bowls! You can have an appetizer, entree and a Bubble Tea for $15 and that is kinda impossible to do anywhere in this day and age. I missed out on taking pics of the Pho dish but I got a pic of my extra bowl of just the Pho broth which is perfect for a rainy afternoon
They have a standard Vietnamese menu but there are also Chef Specials and a page of Authentic dishes. I can't remember the Vietnamese names but the Stir Fry Beef with Vermicellie with a special house special sauce (No 8) which is $7.95 has become one of my favorite dishes here. 2 pcs of egg rolls with sauce is $2.50, and the plate of 6 pcs of Wontons for $4.50 came perfectly crispy with some dipping sauce too. This time, instead of the Pho, I decided to try the $11.95 Garlic Shrimp with rice and i was not disappointed! All the Bubble Teas are $3.50 with just fc$a small scoop of tapioca pearls and they even have a Herbal drink which is a full cup of all kinds of interesting things like beans, longans, seaweed etc served ice cold. My daughter's loves their Pho.
COVID precautions: It was very empty during the time we were there. But we noticed mainly pick up orders so there wasn't much to be worried about since there was ample space. The staff were all masked and they do request you enter masked as well and at least till you finish ordering.
PS - The only suggestions I'd offer them is to 1) offer the spicy chilli powder instead of just the Chilli oil and 2) fully cook the boba pearly or offer the Lychee jelly instead and 3) offer more non...

Read moreProbably the first Vietnamese restaurant most people will try upon coming to Nashville, and for a good reason. Everything on the menu is good. Not amazing, but good. The overall flavor seems to be deliberately made to be middle of the road as to not alienate anyone's first or subsequent visits to the restaurant. The beef pho is good but tends to run a little sweet for my preferences. Bun thit nuong is solid and so are their sandwiches. The one thing that they cook that is exceptional is the Bun Bo Hue. It's loaded with all sorts of meat and the flavor profile is well rounded with just enough accent to make you savor it, but not too much to make it overbearing. Still, if its your first time with vietnamese food, I'd suggest you try the pho and Bun Thit Nuong before working your way into the Bun Bo Hue as it does contain some unusual flavors that you will need to acclimate to. But once you acquire the taste, you'll find that no other resturants in the area does it better.
As a side note, VN Pho and Deli across the street is also good, maybe even better. Their flavors are more biased towards the more traditional palate, so if you don't think that Kiang Giang has that flavor oompf to it, you might like VN better. Still, Kiang Giang's Bun bo Hue is #1...
