I was driving around to find a place to eat and this caught my eye. I like trying new places and not a whole lot in Antioch to choose from. There are SOOOO many fast foods BUT this was unique and it's own thing. I was surprised they converted the old O'Charleys into 2 restaurants. One side is an Veg Indian restaurant and the other is Angry Joe's. I accidently walked into the wrong door how I discovered lol.
Inside this place pops of color and design. They have their own mural on the wall. Hence he theme of the video game! Very clean and when I came in after the storms was slow of course. I tried their chicken sandwich combo with waffle fries and a drink. The chicken was juicy. I notice maybe they flatten the chicken with a hammer? Perhaps to make it thinner so it's cooked all the way through? Either way wasn't dry. I did get medium on heat since I wasn't sure how hot. I'm a wimp but I do like kick to it. This is a dry rub on the chicken with seasoning with their own sauce across it. Guessing sriracha is in this? In the sandwich, chicken was topped with pickles with a sweet slaw and onions. Over all sandwich was good. Waffle fries were hot and crispy. Came with their own dipping sauce which tasted almost like thousand island? But wasn't bad. Next time will ask for ranch! Always a a go to for me. Will def have to give an update review on other items on the menu but for first time coming in and trying, I am over all happy.
Self serve drink station and also can order on their touch screens when walking in if gets busy. Service was nice at the front and brought my food to the table. FYI their medium heat will sneak but not kick in the face. I prob could have gotten hot. It was pretty mild for a medium. Where if you go and get medium other places it's like FIRE both front and back door. This place def may up the heat next time since it felt more like the medium was mild. (Again I'm a wimp so if I could do medium just fine, I will up it to hot next time.)
I love how this place has a wash station outside the bathroom hall. I've only been to one other place in TN that had this and it's convenient when you just want to wash your hands before and after without a bathroom...

From the moment you walk in, the vibrant aroma of perfectly spiced poultry hits you, a tantalizing promise of the deliciousness to come. And let me tell you, Hangry Joe's delivers on that promise, and then some. Each piece is incredibly juicy on the inside, encased in a shatteringly crispy, golden-brown crust that holds up to the heat without getting soggy. Now, about that heat! They offer a range of spice levels, from "No Heat" for the faint of heart to "Insane" for the true masochists (I opted for the "Nashville Hot" and it was the perfect balance of fiery kick and incredible flavor). What sets Hangry Joe's apart is that the heat isn't just for show; it's intricately woven into the chicken's seasoning, enhancing every bite without overwhelming the deliciousness of the bird itself. You get that satisfying warmth, a delightful tingle on your tongue, all while still being able to savor the tender meat and expert seasoning. And it's not just the chicken that shines. Their sides are the perfect accompaniment. The waffle fries are crispy, well-seasoned, and addictive, while the slaw offers a refreshing, cool counterpoint to the heat. Even the Hangry Sauce is a standout – creamy, tangy, and with just a hint of spice, it elevates everything it touches. Beyond the incredible food, the service is consistently friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is casual and inviting, perfect for a quick lunch or a satisfying dinner. Read moreI went here yesterday for dinner after work, and it’s clear they aren’t getting enough business. They just opened a few months ago. I was there during peak eating time and not a single person other than myself came the entire time I was there eating. That’s a shame because the food is really good.
The only negative is that it’s a bit pricey for my taste, granted I did splurge a little. But it’s definitely good quality. Everything was just under $20.
I got the Sando meal, which comes with waffle fries, and I upgraded to get a mango milkshake (because you don’t see that everyday).
The milkshake was sooo worth it, but I’m a mango guy. The fries were the perfect crisp and well seasoned. They gave me a signature sauce and house ranch with it, both very delicious and complimented the food well.
The chicken sandwich was FAT. A huge chunk of meat. You have to order a spice level below what you think you can handle. I normally get hot at places like this. I got a medium and it was perfect. If I had gotten the hot it probably would’ve been too much. I was full and satisfied. Oh, I should probably also mention that everything was well packaged and orderly when they handed to me. I really appreciated that. Everything was made fresh, so it took like 10-15 min.
Summary: if you got the money and like spicy chicken, you should...
