I read the reviews and was expecting a Japanese Restaurant, and was let down tremendously. If I had not been with a co-worker, I would have left as soon as I noticed the Lo Mein and Chinese Section of the menu. The staff speaking Chinese and the Chinese style hashi (chop sticks) were also dead give away's. We started with Tempura Shrimp, and it came with vegetables that were actually awesomely cooked. Totally perfect. However the Shrimp was PANKO and it was good. The biggest bummer was the that it was not served with Tempura Sauce but soy. There was a tiny shredded cabbage garnish with a Maraschino cherry, lol. That was funny. I then ordered a bowl of Udon and received Lo Mein, and asked the waitress what this was and she told me Udon. It was not Udon. My co-worker ordered the Chirashi Sushi and it was served with a tiny plastic palm trees and an electric candle surrounded with rice, to look like a volcano. It was pretty funny too. He liked his sushi and it did look right, sans volcanic island plate. An authentic Japanese restaurant is all about the small details and taste. The place had a nice feel and was clean, the staff were nice and the price for fake Udon, umm i mean Lo Mein, was a bit much for fried noodle with green pepper (hint Kirin Sushi owerners, Japanese noodle dished are not served with green bell pepper). I guess what bummed me out was that it was pretend Japanese and they put in a half hearted effort at faking it. They couldn't even spell the word Pepper correctly on the menu, which was one of many errors on the first page. If you or I go out to a Brazilian steak house, we would not want to see Mexican food on the menu or Argentinian food for that matter. So why would you go to Japanese restaurant for...
Read moreSTOP and READ before coming here. Wasn't really busy today maybe 2 tables total before I showed up. Took about an hour for bento box and and upon soup. Salad was good came out okay and quick. Upon came 40 min in and then bent box came about 5 min later. The rice was dry and bland not white rice but tasted old. Ordered steak teriyaki medium rare came out old as well. Tempura had an after taste that tasted weird maybe something in the grease. Sushi looked pretty rushed and terrible like I could better looking food from krogers maybe. At this point 3/5 of my meal is both cold and not good yikes... decided waiting an hour for lack luster food is never worth it. Decided to leave my box there and pay for the udon. Unsure on if today was a bad day or what but was disappointed by my first time there and is not worth the +4 star rating. Definitely sub par japanese food. Would rather go to panda express across the street. If this is the usual food I'd hate to see them when there busy. I will give them the benefit of the doubt maybe cook was gone. Waiter did address they were behind but food should never come cold or bad after waiting almost an hour. This place is at best 3 stars from my experience. BELIEVE WHAT OTHERS SAY...this place is NOT as good as it used to be. So steak...
Read moreWe ordered Lo Mein, Shrimp Tempura Sushi and Crab Ragoon here and they are all tasty! All of our orders were freshly cooked. I am very amazed how the shrimp in our Tempura sushi was kept nice crispy. The Lo mein was flavorful and the ragoon is one of the bests! Most of all, the customer service was very pleasant! The restaurant is kept nice and very clean.
Note: This is an authentic Japanese restaurant that has Japanese workers. Kindly bear with some possible language barrier. Let us stay respectful and nice to the workers there. I can tell that they work really hard on delivering good food quality and try really hard to keep a pleasant smile on their face as they assist customers. I heard a customer being rude to the server due to some language barrier and I don't think that is fair thus I am writing this language barrier disclaimer. If you don't have the patience and proper manners to be respectful with the workers who are doing their job nicely in this place then just please go...
