My daughter and I were very excited about this place because we’re on the path of becoming vegetarians and wanted to start by eating out at vegan restaurants. This was the very first vegan restaurant and so far the only one we’ve been to and I was VERY VERY disappointed. I’ve literally never in my life asked for a refund at a restaurant until today. I ordered the “Soul Chic Plate” I think that’s what it’s called and the first red flag was how fast our food came out, so that let me know immediately that it’s not fresh and our food was reheated and served to us. What confirmed that, was when we started digging in, the food was lukewarm/cold. Immediately lost my appetite but I still tried to eat. Greens were dry and had absolutely no flavor, biscuit was cold, meat was cold, mac n cheese had a horrible after taste and even my daughter stated that the inside of her ribs were very mushy and cold. I then realized the bbq meat wasn’t what I asked for and the young lady brought the fried chicken out in a bowl. I’m still perplexed at what I saw and asked the young lady if that was the fried chicken and she said yes. The chicken looked like fried onions or chips. I then reminded her to get me some ranch because the meal comes with it, she then replied saying that it’s extra for the ranch and I say “how when both meals are exactly the same price?”. Good thing she came back and then said told me it was free but by then I told her that I cannot eat and need a refund.
I’m still in absolute disbelief that they’re serving people microwaved food. No effort in taste, lazy prep and with cooking. If they don’t tighten up I can see this place being shut down. I’m slightly turned off by vegan food at the moment because that was the worst food I’ve ever tasted at a restaurant. I almost can’t believe they are this bold. I however will not give up because I know there are good vegan restaurants out there. Unfortunately we wont be coming back to this one.
I did give this review two stars because the customer service was good and the man refunded my money with no hassle. This just my constructive criticism because I want to see this place thrive. I was so ready to help in supporting this business especially because it’s close to home. I planned on making this our go to spot but I’m very turned off by the quality of food.
Times are hard and trying to save money is ideal but the food and bev industry is very demanding and sacrifice isn’t unheard of. With that being said QUALITY will always win over quantity.
To the owner or manger who read this. I’ve seen your responses to your negative reviews and that’s going to continue you to hurt your business. Our opinions matter and your business can’t thrive without happy customers or customers at all. Take accountability and just do better. You...
Read moreI’ve ordered quite a few times and have always widely recommended this business to many people. I’ve had decent encounters all but one other time but the last one took the cake and I’ve haven’t returned SINCE. I’d been wanting to try their brunch for months. When I called in ahead of my first work break, the younger guy answered the phone with “Wassup!?” I looked at the phone to make sure I’d dialed the right number and responded “hello, is this the business Vegelicious?” to which he responded “I’m just waiting on you to order”. As someone that’s been in the customer service industry for years, I immediately said something about it and he suddenly didn’t seem to recall what happened. I immediately ended the call, blocked the business number ( because he kept trying to call back) and took my business to First Watch not far down the road which I recommend anyone reading to do, for basic decency. The men (young and old) working here always seem unhappy and angry about something. What do you gain by taking it out on customers who support you?
Edit: I’ve seen your response, but I know what establishment I was at. I’d gone in days prior but couldn’t place an order due to my schedule and had to leave. It was a light skinned guy with locs. My stance is the same, the customer service from the men needs improvement if...
