Quite possibly the absolute worst restaurant I have ever had the displeasure of eating at!!! The fact that it was in a shady strip mall in East Nashville should have sent up a plethora of Red Flags, but my wife and I had eaten at one there locations in North Carolina and we loved it, so we threw caution to the wind and went there.
We'll start with the food. For starters, we ordered a dozen oysters. They were the only good part of the experience. We chose to build our own platter. We ordered half a pound of shrimp WITHOUT heads, we got three shrimp with heads on. We ordered half a pound of Green Mussels, again we received three mussels. We ordered 8 scallops and there were 8, BUT they were literally the circumference of a nickel. I'm sure that the half a pound of Snow Crab legs were right but we couldn't even open them because they were so rubbery. There were literally only three pieces of corn on the cob and two and a half red potatoes. A decent amount of broccoli that was absolutely uneatable because they were so overcooked. The seasoning (basic garlic butter) had started congealing by the time she poured it on to the platter...the platter that we had to ask for, if we hadn't she expected us to eat straight from the bag.
Which now brings us to the service, or should I say the lack there of. When the waitress took our drink order, my friend asked for wine and the waitress said, "Yeah we don't have wine, but we got Champagne beer". My friend asked what champagne beer was and the waitress actually said, "I'm not really sure it's just called Miller High Life... champagne beer." We should have got up right then and left, but unfortunately we stayed. After we initially got our drink orders within minutes she brung out the oysters and as I said before they were good. We then gave our order and within minutes, before the oysters were even eaten, the bag of food and three plates...as if it were already made. I asked if they had a platter that we could empty onto and she acted as if she was put out by doing this. It took longer for her to get the platter than it took to get our food. She brought us one tool to open the Crab legs because she said there wasn't anymore...keep in mind the place was nearly empty. We never saw her again until the check was LITERALLY dropped on the table. Quite possibly the absolute worst and dumbest waitress in the history of the profession.
Atmosphere...as I said it's in a shady strip mall in East Nashville. The inside smells of damp and old seafood with mumble rap blasting over the speakers.
In conclusion, I would say even if there's a zombie apocalypse happening and this was the ONLY restaurant with food and shelter...STILL AVOID IT AND TAKE YOUR CHANCES WITH...
Read moreCame to this location on a random weekday, and it was fairly empty. Juicy seafood is always a go to for me and I enjoy the flavors and seafood selections they provide.
On this occasion this was my very first time ever visiting this location. Sadly half way through receiving my meal a fly landed inside of my bag. Yuck! So much for finishing my meal or taking it to go.
I got the attention of the waitress and let her know that a fly from inside the restaurant had landed inside my food. She was shocked...Well so was I LOL glad we were both on the same page. She runs off to get someone else who I assume is the manager and I explain to her and show her the bug. Guess what she did.....?
Discount? Nope. New bag? Nope. She brings scissors and tries to cut the bug out of the bag. I wish I was joking!!
I informed the lady I would not be eating this food mam my meal is now contaminated and at this point I don’t want the meal anymore. Well she lets me know she can call her manager and ask if he can give me a 20% discount... sure no worries I will wait since that’s the ONLY option you can provide. Not new food, not comping the meal because your restaurant had flies swarming people as they eat.
My initial waitress came back after 2 minutes and says well I can give you a 5% discount. I couldn’t accept 5% when I didn’t even get to finish my meal to begin with AND that is not what was advised by the scissor happy woman.
That won’t fly. Pun intended!
The 20% discount was applied as informed... but it doesn’t stop there you guys. I give the waitress $100 bill and cash out. When she brings my change as always I count my change. Hmmm... I’m missing $5, which I blamed on her maybe miscounting. I wait patiently to bring this to her attention and she looks confused for a moment, but immediately goes into her pocket playing slightly coy. Guess what she pulled out? A $5 bill. I can’t make this up!! I felt like I was being punked and after the horrible customer service and unclean practices I can honestly say I will NEVER be back or eat at this juicy seafood location based on this experience.
That sh**...
Read moreI went to this place because it had great reviews and because I'm an avid lover of seafood. When I went in, I was greeted by the smell of delicious boiled seafood and the hustle and bustle of a busy Sunday night.
I ordered 1lb of shrimp with the head off with the Juicy Special sauce (a combination of their garlic, Cajun, and lemon pepper sauces) with mild spiciness.
Although they were busy, I received my food within about 15 minutes.
The sauce my food came in was watered down and bland. I couldn't tell what flavor I had bc the whole thing tasted like lightly seasoned water, which made everything in the bag taste just as bland. It was even loose like they had added water to it. For the sake of this review, we're gonna call it "paprika water" bc that's what it tasted like.
The shrimp were smaller than I thought they'd be, they looked like shrimp you got out of the freezer section of the supermarket, not fresh shrimp from a market. Definitely undeserving of being $22lb. It should've costed half that off size alone. I'm guessing they were cooked in the paprika water bc they were flavorless.
My corn tasted like it came straight out of the freezer and into my bag. It had no flavor whatsoever and I couldn't take another bite after the initial one. Same goes for my potatoes, BLAND with ZERO flavor, everything, I'm assuming, was boiled in paprika water and thrown in my bag.
I ordered broccoli in the garlic sauce on the side. My broccoli was severely overcooked in garlic water. It was mushy and soggy. I couldn't believe that even the garlic sauce by itself was so bland and watery. I ate 3 pieces and threw it in the trash.
It was late so I couldn't go back out and get more food. I got my fill and threw the rest in the trash. Definitely not worth the $30 I spent and the stomach ache I had...
