Wasn't too happy with my experience today. I'm a huge sushi fan. I've lived in Hawaii and grew up in California. I've had sushi all over the country. I don't expect top notch from Nashville, but I expected at least decent. I've actually been to a lot of sushi places in Nashville by the way as I live here. Ordered a Crispy roll to go. Some of the roll had fallen apart by the time I had even got to my car. The sushi isn't packed tight and the slices are sliced too thin. Just barely touching the sushi before picking it up, it fell completely apart. It's impossible to eat with chop sticks. The sushi isn't made right if you can't even pick it up with your hand without it falling apart. Also the avocado bomb was weird. The center is very oddly mushy and the avocado sits in a pool of sauce. I feel like it has potential but it's not made as good as it can be. If it was a little thinner, the fried portion on the outside was thinner, and it had other toppings that weren't so hard to distinguish to see what it is, then it wouldn't be as bad. Also the pool of sauce isn't necessary. It's ok to drizzle some sauce on the avocado bomb, but there should be a cup with the rest of the sauce so you can dip it in the sauce. That way for those who get it to go, it's not a mixture of mush sitting in a pool of sauce when they get home.
Anyways, my experience here was definitely unique from other places I've tried in the area, and sadly not in a good way. I might try this place again but definitely not with a fried sushi roll and hopefully the slices are a little thicker and don't crumble apart before...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off, I was a little concerned about picking this sushi place out of all the other ones available around Nashville. I am glad we went here as the food and sushi rolls were fantastic! We had the Avocado Ball (but got the Bomb), Green Roll, Albacore Special and Tuna Lover rolls. They were all delicious! My major complaint here is the service. It took some time for them to come around and take our order. When we ordered, we ordered the Avocado "Ball" as the "Bomb" had crab in it which I am allergic too. When they brought it over we dove into it and started enjoying but then my friend said I think the crab is in this one so we asked the server and she said we got the Bomb not the ball one. So I immediately asked if it was the imitation crab not real crab and thank god it was. She was not very apologetic and we were also missing our apps and veggie tempura. Again, was not very apologetic and we got our tempura about 20-25 mins later. So all in all we thoroughly enjoyed the food but the service was disappointing. Hopefully next time we come here they bring the service up to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews but this was quite possibly one of the worst dining experiences Iāve had. It was lunchtime and 1 server with 12 tables. She was also trying to greet and seat customers, answer phones, pack food for pickup, and clean all the tables. She was really sweet but literally having to run around the restaurant to get everything done. The amount of understaffing was like nothing Iāve ever seen before. It took over 2 hours to order, get food, then pay. We didnāt sit around and chat or order drinks. We ordered a basic lunch item and sashimi, which is just cut up fish that is plated. There were people leaving before getting their food, people who walked in the door standing for 20 minutes without being greeted before just walking out. All of the tables were visibly upset and unhappy. There were items missing from my meal, which the server apologized for and got, and the portions were small. Iām not sure if this was a bad day to go, but I wonāt be back...
