Good pizza, only drawback is the drink structure. Pinky Ring is where the old Sir Pizza was beside the Subway in Madison. For those familiar with the OLD place, the food was good but seating was limited and the bathrooms needed serious attention.
Pinky Ring updated things. The first change you'll notice is there is a porch out front with picnic tables. Probably nice in summer months, but it's been a polar vortex or something recently. Inside, the seven booths have been replaced by one row of bar seating for maybe 9 total. This opened more space for preparing the pizza which can be viewed by turning around to watch or by seeing the reflection in the window. The bathrooms were also updated, a definite plus.
On to the important review, the food! We got the garlic knots ($8) and a pepperoni pizza ($28) with canned sodas ($2.50 each). As another customer described it, the knots were like a loaf, fairly large in size, and fairly heavy (not full of a lot of air in the dough). It was good, but both of us decided to only have one piece to avoid getting filled up by bread prior to the pizza . From what I could tell, they had lots of types of pizzas but not a lot of meat toppings (I only saw pepperoni and sausage listed, but I could have missed something). I have never seen pepperoni large like that on a pizza. It was good, but you will need a lot of napkins to blot up the grease prior to eating (I noticed the couple sitting next to me did the same thing). (That sounds like a big negative, but don't take it that way, the pepperoni was good.) The crust was pretty solid, not too flimsy, and tasted good.
They have canned and bottled drinks. It is a fairly large selection. My only problem is that I drink a lot when eating pizza. At a normal place, I normally get two or three refills. So, getting another canned drink was another $2.50. (I get charging $2.50 for the first, but maybe a discount or something on subsequent ones, especially regular sodas, or having one "exchange" free (give empty can for new one). This cost a star to the rating.)
I think dine in size will hurt this place which was very busy with take out orders. The benefit of the small size was it allowed us to have a good conversation with some others while waiting, but (as always) you have to be willing to put that phone down and say "Hi. How is your day going?"
The lady at the cash register was really nice as was the guy handing the pizza across the counter. The pizza makers were fun to watch.

Read moreUpdate: 12/13/22...its now my 4th time here and I'm seeing lots inconsistencies in the pizza, this usually leads to less customers.....To most maybe no big deal but when you set a plain slice at 5.00 and pepperoni at 6.00 a slice you set an expectation you know how to make high quality pizza every day. Today, dough did not taste the same. It had more of a sour dough taste where it was over fermented and there was that gross gum line on the slice bottom that you get when you make bad pizza. The pizza was stretched improperly and led to one really thin half of the slice. There was way too much cheese so it was extra greasy and threw off the balance. Lastly, I see quality slipping already by them not taking the time to add their finish cheese after the reheat and not adding fresh basil as well, this happened 3 other times I have been here. If you charge people like your the best high end pizzeria in the area and can not consistently deliver on that......I dont know how you get longevity in this business. I wont be back. Its still the best pizza in the area but that just says everyone else is that bad.
Original Review: Best slice of pizza in Nashville. Its stupid expensive for a slice. Like make you made how much you just spent on 1 slice type of pizzeria. $5.00 for plain cheese is stupid expensive for bread, sauce and cheese. That being said. It was delicious. Best slice I had in the Nashville area.....Unfortunately I will never go back because I feel like I was robbed. I live in Cali so I am used to over paying and just paying more for everything but this was just outrageous. Was it worth 5 bucks...HELL NO!......Is it the best slice in Nashville...YEP. Staff was nice, friendly and eager to serve you. Big outdoor seating area. Inside has a few chairs and seats but its tight. Parking is horrible. I hope they stay in business with those prices, parking, limited seating and inconsistencies...

I’ve tried every place in Nashville that sells pizza by the slice, and I honestly think Pinky Ring is the new champ. The pizza here will satisfy the nerdiest, most highfalutin pizza lover. It will also satiate the simple craving for a delicious and fast, foldable slice. What a wonderful balance.
The crust is just right, being lightly charred with a satisfying bite. The sauces (red, cream, olive oil) were all crave-able, and I say this as someone who doesn’t like white/sauceless pizzas. The cheese is quality and ties the whole thing together. All of the toppings were tremendous, as well. I was pretty apprehensive of the seasonal veggie pie…but they obviously prepared the veggies with the intention of putting them on a pizza, and it made all of the difference. No topping feels like an afterthought.
Their “Rosa” pie is an incredible elevation of the classic cheese. I would start there on your first visit.
Also, do NOT overlook the garlic knots. They were the best I’ve ever had.
I’ll close by saying visit here with haste. They are going to be an institution in Madison and Nashville very soon.
Here are a few FAQ’s:
They have indoor and outdoor seating.
They have vegetarian options, and I have no doubt would accommodate any dietary restriction they could.
They WILL be serving by the slice and whole pies.
Ample options for drinks in cans and bottles.
They’ll have a walk-up window.
Parking shouldn’t be an issue.
Yes, they are under the Sir Pizza sign. Remember...
