El Cubilete Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

This was the most awkward experience. Me and my daughter came across this place as a highly rated mexican restaurant in Madison so we decided that is where we will be eating. We went there and had the hardest time finding a place to park, but we were excited to try the delicious food so we parked further away and walked over. We walk in, the place is full so I'm thinking this is a good sign that the rating was on point. The issue we ran into is that we were just standing there with everyone (customers) looking at us. We were never approached to be seated, and two servers had passed by without saying anything even though we both obviously looked confused on what we should be doing. So, I'm thinking we might need to seat ourselves. That's fine, we've been to plenty of chinese restaurants where we have to seat ourselves, no biggie. Before I did that I wanted confirmation that that's what we should do, so I walked up to the counter and stood there. We were never acknowledged and the person behind the counter kept on about her business acting like we weren't there. We eventually decided to leave as it was getting really embarrassing. Food is good and authentic Tis the reason for 1 star but the service is absolutely horrible. The two girls working in there think their poop don’t stink! The owner just goes by and looks at you and when you mention the rude waitresses to him he has nothing to say, he never bothers to ask how things are. The waitresses rush you to order and if you are not ready when they are they will let you sit there forever to come back and get your order on purpose. They constantly let you run out of drink and are no where to be found last time we went it in it was 20 min till close and the lady literally told us “ you need to hurry and order before the kitchen closes”. I’m sorry but if I go out to eat it’s to have a nice time with my family so I can not worry about cooking and actually sit down and eat with my family, but I be dang if I’m going to give my hard earned money to rude waitresses and a owner that could careless how rude his waitresses are. If you are looking for sugary margaritas, endless chips with bland salsa and food smothered in cheese sauce, this isnt the place for you. However, if you are craving authentic mexican, you've found the best in Nashville! Homemade tortillas, rich, deep sauces, beautifully prepared meats and seafood, the most delicious salsa verse and amazing homemade masa. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. Huge portions and wonderful service. Can't wait to go back and try their pazole Verde. It's been a rough two years since we moved here on the mexican front.
