*In response to the below comment, we never once said that everything was great. How am I going to know how my food is if I have JUST gotten it or if I haven’t even taken a bite waiting on my friend to get her food? We were asked once, pretty much as soon as we got our food, and we were never asked again. We responded that it looked fine. We were asked if we wanted another drink or more water, but that was all. I have never eaten at a restaurant where I was asked one singular time how everything was going, and in my various restaurant jobs and training for those, I was always instructed to ask how the table was doing every time I walked by. I would think that the plate that has been barely touched would be a sign that you should check in again, aside from asking if I would like a box, especially when I said no box. But, I guess we don’t all use our critical thinking skills and pay attention to context clues. This response to my review has ensured that not only will I never return, but I will also go out of my way to warn people not to eat there.
I had a terrible experience. I went for dinner, and I ordered the hibachi filet mignon and chicken combination. The salad was alright, some of the lettuce looked like it needed to be tossed, but for the most part it was okay. The carrots in the vegetables were very good! I’m not a fan of other veggies, so I can’t comment on those, but the carrots were great. The chicken and the filet both tasted alright, but I ordered my filet medium rare and there was not even a tiny amount of pink in it. Each piece was entirely brown inside and out. The serving was VERY small. For $20, I would expect more than 6 pieces of filet and 6 pieces of chicken. The “fried” rice was absolutely terrible. It was soggy, and it was very spicy. There is no reason for regular fried rice to ever be spicy. We ordered an edamame appetizer, my hibachi meal, and my friend’s sushi. The edamame came pretty quickly but was oversalted. My hibachi meal came out maybe 5 minutes after the edamame, and then it was about 15 minutes before my friend’s sushi came. Made for a very awkward dinner with having to eat so my food wouldn’t be cold while my friend didn’t have her dinner. The atmosphere was weird, the service was okay. I would NEVER go back again. Way too expensive for the...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I am so unbelievably picky When it comes to sushi and what not But this place absolutely takes the cake.
Let’s just start off with the sushi. I always get the California roll. I know it’s basic but one thing about rock ‘n’ roll sushi’s California roll It is anything but basic. I could be completely off the ball, but the Rice has a tang to it that works. The vegetables and crab are so unbelievably fresh. Pairing the with the Yum Yum sauce makes you wanna have it every single day. Next, eggrolls are the best I think I have ever had. You just have to try them.
I wanna talk about the ambience of the place. There are huge screens that show past music videos of rock ‘n’ roll stars that is super awesome! Also, the menu is made from Vinyl record, albums!!!! It’s honestly the coolest thing when you go in because you never know which artist you’re going to get for your menu. Lastly, the guitars all over the walls. I don’t think there’s another restaurant in Nashville quite like this one because it’s a music lovers dream! You get amazing sushi as well as amazing service and food!!
Lastly, the service is phenomenal. I’ve never had a bad experience here, all of the servers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable on the menu.
But seriously, if you’re really looking at a place to go, you have to try rock ‘n’ roll sushi, you...
Read moreVery loud and annoyingly busy theme restaurant with a “rock n roll” theme. Im probably not the best judge of the theme but the giant tv playing classic rock music videos offers a distraction from the below average sushi and the average service. I shouldn’t expect much from a theme sushi restaurant out of Mobile, Alabama in the burbs of Nashville, but I would at least hope the sushi would be served somewhat cold. I ordered miso soup and it was fine. My guests ordered the krab rangoon equivalent and it was okay, but everything else was either drenched in mayo, “yummy sauce”, or was fried and filled with cream cheese. The menu is written in their own “rock n roll” code so you literally have to read each description of each dish to make sure you aren’t ordering the fried cream cheese bomb but rather the slathered in mayo bomb. I tried to order the classics but the rainbow row was made with the finesse of a hoagie, the eel roll was room temperature at best and the salmon roll was swimming in mayo. Also their take on a chirashi bowl was covered in some weird sweet and spicy goo and was also off temp. I don’t even wanna drive by this place because it was so bad. Our server may have been struggling for some unknown reason so I won’t go there. You never know what someone’s going through. That said, this place is way off my radar now....
