Sportsman's Grille — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

I took my lady here last night for Valentine's First we ordered drinks and the waiter brought her a drink she did not order,he said they could not make her drink so he just changed it without asking. We got appetizer and it was good,than they brought us our steaks. I called waiter over and explained my meal did not have the green beans I ordered and that neither one of us received our salad which should come before the steak. I explained we do not want the salad as it was too late. Waiter gets my green beans than has them deliver salads by this time I'm almost finished with my steak. I told the cook no do not want salad. The waiter comes over wanting to know why I did not want salad after explaining again He tells me he is just a server not his problem so I explained as my server you need to listen to my issue here. Waiter gets upset says I'm disrespecting him and acts like he wants a encounter with me I told him to go get the manager,he walks away and stands by the seater desk. After 5 min we asked another person to get the manager,nice lady who apologised for what happened and said the meal was on her. This is most definitely not about getting a free meal,I wanted to pay, I wanted to treat my sweetheart to a nice meal instead I got awful service and when I complained about it was put in a situation that could have turned into a altercation, I have ate here many times but this was and is truly the worst service I have ever had in my 55 years. This waiter changes my drink order without asking,has them bring a salad I told him I did not want than gets agressive when i refuse to accept it,than after a discussion over it he calls me out,on a bad day i would have laid him on the floor and walked out. I love this place we are sort of Locals now in Virginia but my wife is UT Mighty VOLs graduate as are the two close friends both same school we often join there as it is choice of Local Nashville Residents who are in the know. The service and white fish and chips/French fries as well as the outstanding service by our server and the leadership of the manager on duty Scott or Roger who was a US Marine Veteran of Southwest Asia during the early 2000's and was a very skilled manager. The service was amazing and I was able to charge my out of power cell phone because of a de-charging car charger and watch Monday Night Football with one small issue which Mike the Manager on duty the next day handled with kindness the next morning when I called Mike. Tonight, May 2 2017, Sportsman Grille was not on their A game. My food was delicious as always. For a chicken sandwich, side salad and baked potato, my dinner cost $17:50 plus 20%tip. Our waitress was super nice but she was the only one working while the others stood around the cash register. The incorrect chicken sandwich was brought out meanwhile my friend ate her food while it was hot. She had to order fries because the SG ran out of veggie skewers and broccoli. Bottom line, SG is getting a run for the money with the new players in town and if they don't get a better staff and mindset, I don't know how much longer they can stay in business.
