The Henry is truly a hidden gem in Nashville’s laid-back 12th South district. From the moment you step inside, you feel as if you’ve been transported to an upscale East Coast brownstone neighborhood restaurant. The design is absolutely stunning—elegant and timeless with dark woods, leather wallpaper, and a classy, old-world charm. It’s the perfect blend of high-end sophistication and relaxed Southern hospitality.
We were seated in the covered patio, which felt like a lush garden oasis. The bright, airy space, complete with high ceilings, abundant greenery, and stylish furniture, created a wonderful contrast to the cozy elegance of the interior.
Walter, the maître d’, greeted us warmly and gave us a great introduction to the restaurant. He even offered to personally assist with reservations if availability ever seems limited on OpenTable—a thoughtful touch that reflects the restaurant’s commitment to exceptional service.
Armand, who took care of our table, was equally outstanding. His professionalism, warm personality, and genuine smile made us feel right at home. He was attentive without being intrusive and kept us engaged with friendly conversation throughout the evening.
The food was just as impressive as the atmosphere and service. I had the burger, and it was absolutely delicious—the meat was incredibly fresh and flavorful. We also enjoyed the brie and cranberry on sourdough toast appetizer, which was the perfect start to the meal. My husband had the chopped tuna salad, lightly seared and beautifully prepared. Every bite was fantastic.
Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we can’t wait to return. As Nashville locals, we’re thrilled to have found such an elegant yet approachable spot that we’ll definitely be frequenting...

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant twice within a week, and both experiences were absolutely outstanding. My first visit was solo, and I was immediately impressed by the warm and polite service. The waiter, who was both knowledgeable and genuinely friendly, recommended a fresh salad with strawberries and watermelon topped with Scottish salmon – and it was phenomenal. The fruits and veggies were incredibly fresh, and the dressing brought all the flavors together perfectly. It was a refreshing, flavorful dish that left a lasting impression.
I enjoyed it so much that I booked a table for later that week to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We ordered the same salad, and once again, it was amazing – fresh, vibrant, and so delicious that we couldn't stop talking about it. I had also informed the staff ahead of time that I wanted to surprise my friend, and they brought out a molten butter cake with ice cream and syrup, complete with a candle. The cake was rich and comforting, beautifully balanced after the light and fresh salad.
We paired our meal with peach mimosas, another excellent recommendation from our attentive waiter. The drink was light, fruity, and perfectly complemented our dishes. Across both visits, the service stood out – every staff member was kind, helpful, and truly made us feel welcome.
And the live music… it was the final magical touch. Beautiful voices accompanied by the guitar played in the background, creating the perfect ambiance for a relaxed and joyful meal.
Highly recommend this place for its incredible food, attentive service, and lovely atmosphere. Thank you to the whole team for making both visits so special! We will be...
Read moreAs a Nashville local, I was looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately, my recent visit was the worst dining experience I’ve had in recent memory.
We had reservations for 7:00 PM but didn’t receive our food until 8:30 PM. While our server did his best and was attentive throughout the evening, the kitchen and management left much to be desired. My chicken was undercooked, and the side dish of potatoes arrived cold. I sent the potatoes back, only to receive a second plate that was hot on the outside but still cold in the center—clearly microwaved.
What was most disappointing was the manager’s response. He seemed completely oblivious to the issues and never took the initiative to apologize. When I brought the problems to his attention, he simply said they were busy because it was college graduation weekend, offering no apology or attempt to make things right.
The menu is extremely overpriced for the quality of food and service received. I was shocked to be charged an additional $18 just to add short rib to an entrée—an upcharge that felt excessive given the already steep prices. To top it off, a simple Tito’s vodka and soda was $18, which is hard to justify even at a high-end establishment, let alone one delivering such a disappointing experience.
It’s clear the restaurant relies heavily on its location and the steady stream of college-age clientele, rather than on delivering a quality dining experience.
I genuinely felt bad for our server, who was doing his best under difficult circumstances. Unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of the evening. Based on this experience, I would not recommend...
