My husband and I decided to stop here for brunch after an appointment I had in Nashville. We got there around 11 AM on a Friday and did have to wait for about 35-40 minutes and were ultimately seated outside (luckily it was a beautiful day and we didn’t mind). My husband got the breakfast platter, which he said was “just okay”. I got the chicken salad sandwich on gluten free bread and really enjoyed it. It had great flavor! I did, however, pay the upcharge to get fruit as a side and what I was given was very unripe. I couldn’t eat it. We also both tried some iced coffee; my husband got the turtle latte and I got a seasonal one called “bloom”. My husband’s did not taste good at all (almost like they left out the syrups/mix ins), but mine was phenomenal! I felt a little bad for my husband because he seemed to have gotten the short end of the stick at this place. Lol. We also shared a piece of their flourless chocolate cake, which was not very good (I’m an avid flourless chocolate cake fan and make it from scratch often, so I know what tastes good LOL). I was not a fan of the caramel sauce on it at all; it had a strange floral undertone. Overall, our food experience was decent, but the service in general left something else to be desired completely. It took quite a long time to get our food and even longer to get the flourless chocolate cake at the end (even though we asked for it when they brought out our other food). We ended up being there for 2 hours total, with almost 1 1/2 of that being us just waiting for our orders. It was quite busy when we went, but had really mellowed out around 12:30, yet it was still a struggle to get anything. It was also incredibly loud due to construction across the street, although that is of no fault to the Frothy Monkey; just something to consider if you plan to eat outside. It was a neat experience, but it wasn’t our favorite place we’ve been to in Nashville. We probably won’t be back (to this...
Read moreIf you're looking for an incredible breakfast spot in Nashville, Frothy Monkey is an absolute must-visit—especially if you need gluten-free options! As someone with dietary restrictions, finding a place that serves delicious and safe gluten-free meals can be a challenge, but Frothy Monkey totally knocked it out of the park.
I tried their gluten-free breakfast options( we visited several times while in Nash), and they were off the charts. The gluten-free pancakes were light, fluffy, and full of flavor, and the avocado toast on gluten-free bread was spot on. It’s so hard to find a place that makes gluten-free bread that actually tastes good, but Frothy Monkey does it right—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly paired with fresh toppings.
The menu has a great selection of gluten-free options, from hearty breakfast bowls to lighter, protein-packed dishes. Everything I tried was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully made. They really pay attention to detail, making sure all their gluten-free options are prepared with care to avoid any cross-contamination—so I felt 100% safe enjoying my meal.
The vibe of Frothy Monkey is super welcoming, with a relaxed, cozy atmosphere that makes it the perfect place to kickstart your day. Plus, the coffee is great—strong, smooth, and the perfect companion to a stellar breakfast.
If you’re in Nashville and craving an amazing gluten-free breakfast, don’t miss Frothy Monkey. Delicious, fresh, and the kind of place you’ll want to return to...
Read moreHave been going to Frothy Monkey for over 5 years now. Have been to 12 South, The Nations, Downtown, and usually both the food and coffee are good. Went to 12 South location last night to grab a bite to eat and a coffee. Ordered the BLT with extra bacon as I was told the sandwich only came with 2 slices (yes 2). The sandwich came out and maybe there were 4 broken slices of bacon. A piece of bacon was on plate, so I ate that first, well the bacon was so hard, not crispy, but hard, like eating a mouth of pebbles. Then I take a bite of the sandwich, and the bread is as hard as fresh croutons on a salad. I do not like sending food back, because you never know what will be done with the next plate that is sent out. We like visiting Frothy Monkey, but may not go back to this location for a while. For $14.50 for a BLT, there are many other choices to grab a BLT that actually comes with bacon. Also, after checking our receipt, we got charged a $2 "Service Fee", which we have no idea what that was for, all we ordered was the sandwich, latte, and 2 shots of espresso.
UPDATE 3/26/2019 The manager reached out to me and was very apologetic, and offered me a full refund for our bill that night, plus a gift card. I explained to her that I may not visit that location for a while, but will definitely be going to one of their other locations, and that her gesture was appreciated. Hopefully it was just a one time problem at the 12...
