Very unfriendly staff. All the surrounding coffee shops were crowded. This one was empty. Now I know why. My wife likes cold brew, which is what this place was “supposed” to have, according to their website and the marquee in the store. But… no cold brew. They were out. That’s like a specialty hamburger joint being out of hamburgers. Since every other place was crowded we decided to go back and utilize the patio to kill time before our flight. I grabbed a beer from the beer cooler and was informed that only two types of beer (THEIR choice, not yours) can be consumed on their patio. Totally ridiculous, with no explanation. They card you here, which I assumed was because they have to scan your dl. Wrong! The cashier, Ms Personality, rudely informed me that they don’t scan it but you are required to take your dl out of the wallet (which is difficult for those who have the plastic dl holder in your wallet) to allow them to hold it in their hands so they can look at it. Bear in mind I AM 65 YEARS OLD all of this was totally unnecessary. It would have been different had she been even the slightest bit friendly. A total of 6 people came here for the hour and 25 minutes we were seated outside. I can see why everyone else has lines waiting while this...

This is a fun, unique, and quirky (in a good way) coffee shop. At first I was surprised there was a convenience store in the same space (I thought they were separate when looking from the road) but they are not. And I actually think that is great, personally. It's one part coffee shop, one part convenience).
The coffee itself is great! I had one the Sumatra pour-overs and she had the Apple Cider (one of the best I've had). What really sold me on the place is the upstairs, it's incredible. The decor is great and there are multiple seating areas for one person to come and work, or a small group to come and study/hang out. The outside patio was the big winning factor to me as it also has great seating and is well covered, so even in the rain you can sit out there and enjoy the ambiance.
The great coffee, convenience store, and thoughtful upstairs lounge area are all factors that will ensure I will be back to White Bison.
There is also limited free parking behind...
Read moreAt first, I figured the shop was another "glammed up" amenity of the 12 South neighborhood. But once inside, I found the White Bison Coffee Shop to be an authentic and welcoming addition. With its varied selections, comfortable, well-appointed design in its upstairs/downstairs seating areas. I'd always rated the Twice Daily's store chain's coffee pretty good among convenience store markets. I was a bit skeptical upon seeing the White Bison chain of transitions. The coffee is not only good,, but fairly priced across all coffee chain markets. The White Bison on 12 South also offers key souvenir items from the famed Loveless Cafe. This is convenient for those who prefer not to travel the distance to the actual Loveless Cafe location.
The five star rating was earned primarily by the quality of service, selection and overall experience found at this White Bison location. It's very obvious the effort put into EVERYTHING at this popular location. However, the same can NOT be said for the Charlotte...
