I really, really want this place to succeed. It is close to home and they have a good menu. I ordered online tonight, and there were issues. I'm only posting this in hoping that the owners or managers will see it and maybe make improvements. So many of these type restaurants just open up, and hire some unqualified employees, and think that they will be successful while they go off on vacation thinking they will sit back and watch the money roll in. I have seen so many of these kind of places go down simply because of a lack of management or lack of owner involvement. I am really afraid this is going to be the case here. I know there are huge issues with hiring competent employees to run your business. I can't imagine what a PitA that must be. But, why bother to open a place and just let the employees run it without the owner there, at least for the first year or so. Anyway, ordered online, went to the drive-thru. Sat forever behind about half a dozen cars. Finally went inside to see if I could pick up the order, and they handed it to me quickly. I'm sure it had been sitting around for awhile while I was in the drive thru line. There was 1 -ONE person inside eating. I would think that the drive thru line would have gone a little quicker. The food-. I was really looking forward to some collard greens-mainly why i went. They would have been good, but obviously there were too many cooks in the kitchen and all of them salted the greens. I may as well have ordered a bucket of salt. The white beans on the other hand were very good. Wish I'd just ordered a bowl of those. The grilled chicken was pretty good too. I sure want this place to make it, but I'd suggest having an owner there and hiring some good employees and pay them really REALLY well. I believe it would pay off. Better than having low wage employees running the place and then close due to lack of business (like the last place-Corky's). I sure hope y'all make it, but if your focus is not on excellence, I fear that will not happen. I don't mean to be critical, but want this place to succeed and hope that I'm offering some construcive criticism. Thanks Well, tried to edit this review, and it still lists 4 stars, I posted 3 stars, then edited it to 2, but it still has it as 4. I'm beginning to think google reviews are...
Read morePicked up lunch here today as I was in the mood for some roasted chicken. I got the fire roasted chicken with potato wedges and tomato cucumber salad. The chicken was a decent size breast and was juicy and tender. There wasn’t a lot of seasoning on the chicken and I think could have used a little more for flavor. I got a side of barbecue sauce that was really tasty and had a little kick to it. The potato wedges were a little on the dry side but I did get them to go so probably dried out a little on the trip back home. These too could have used a little more seasoning flavor in my opinion. The cucumber tomato salad was quite tasty as it tasted very much like a homemade version we make and was very flavorful. In all it was pretty good but not great but it is good enough that I would eat there again. With tax, paid about $16 for the plate which is average nowadays. They looked a little light in staff when I got there mid afternoon and it took a few minutes to get my order that was already ready since there only seemed to be one person wait the counter. I didn’t see a specific pick up order place so I waited behind some other folks placing a sit down order. Someone finally did spot me that came out from the back but by that point the person at the counter was free. Considering they weren’t busy, would like to have seen more than one person at front to make sure folks are waited on more quickly…especially if they are just needing to pick up a to-go order that’s...
Read moreI know I'm late to the game on this, but Waldo's on Charotte just served up one of the most enjoyable meals l've had in ages. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. I mentioned to the cashier Tracy that it was my first time, and she was sooo helpful. She seriously went above and beyond. She told me they make all their sauces in-house (there must've been at least a dozen!) and even let me sample the teas before picking a drink. She crunched some numbers for me when I said I may just want 1 or 2 tenders (not pictured on menu) instead of the 3-tender.
Fruit tea is oddly hard to come by in Nashville nowadays and theirs is great. I went with the chicken tenders, onion rings, and fruit tea-a full beige plate with zero regrets. The GM, Josefu, found out I was a first-timer and surprised me with biscuits and, later, banana pudding. Unreal.
The whole staff is just a vibe. Genuinely friendly, funny, and welcoming. Honestly, l'd come back even if the food was "just okay," for the energy alone. But lucky for me, the food IS good. Rollin' out of here!
