I love this restaurant. The service was amazing, and the food- Yes, ma'am, I'll take more good! My husband and I got an odd assortment of this and that. We started with the Cajun Style Crabcakes but also got the City of Lights Salad, the Dynamite Shrimp, the Dynamite Shrimp Wrap with potato casserole. Thank you, little Baby Jesus, everything was amazing. The salad! ❤️ I was completely undignified while eating it, and I'm not sorry. The shrimp! ☺️ Ugh, it was so freaking good! Even my hard-to-please husband was pleased with his wrap, and he enjoyed the bites he "stole" from my salad. Let's talk about the crabcakes, but especially the creamy crawfish sauce! 😭 I almost stabbed my husband's hand to get his, in addition to mine. But I was a good wife and didn't. 😏😉 He has no idea how close he came to being Captain Hook. Our server was sweet as could be and very attentive. We decided to walk down to the river while our main courses were being prepared, and when we returned, our entire table had been cleared and cleaned off, probably by a staff member who has that job because we told our server where we were going. Bless her heart, she had to redo all of our drinks and cutlery. We found the prices reasonable for such good food. Oh, the sweet tea was very good as well. I had one concern while there: We couldn't walk down to the river bank because a section of the stairs is either broken or almost broken. Since the restaurant has a dock with multiple boat tie-ups for river neighbors, they really need to make those repairs asap. Otherwise, this restaurant was amazing. 10/10 stars. We will return when we visit...
Read moreMediocre at best. lady server was kind but never asked us for refills or how the food was. When I food was delayed over an hour, we were told "because some group had a large order before us"....they must have been hidden out back (not) or carry out. OK......For a family of four (4) and a bill that came out to.....$138: daughter and son ordered "crawfish cornbread" that appear fried 3x, greasy corners of pan, no crawfished baked inside only a few "toasted" (while baking?) on top. The bread is sweet, like cane syrupc glazed, and mixed with grease...so perhaps it is locally favored. Red fish with crawfish "Etouffe'" was partially dried toward tail...to be overlooked, and the "etouffe'" was apparently at the end of the day and some water/cream added which made it runny, i.e. unsubstantial and ran under all the pasta. The ettoufe had several crawfish..... BTW, what is even more laughable is their "ala cart" sides for $8-$10, we are talking broccoli/steamed vegtables, mac and cheese, fries. Superior grill prices for a dive...but oh,.....its on the river front.
A re-occuring them on this restaurant review seems to be over-fried, deep brown or repeated fried (trick to rejuvenate earlier fixed fry) food. Notice that there are no comments from manager/owner.....hmmmm. Time to move on. For $20-$30 dishes, listen to the still small voice and go the Mariners...or Sams Southern Eatery. O-K if your not accustomed to good home cooked food. Im tired of wasting my money on terrible service and...
Read morePassing through to try something new…well this dish on the menu read to be a crawfish cornbread packed with crawfish, topped more crawfish and cane syrup. The dishes served seemed to be burned edges of the casserole, empty, with no crawfish or (vegetables) to be found, sprinkled with a few fried pieces of what seemed to have been crawfish. It was a great disappointment and left us very sad and hungry. The price paid for this meal was costly for fried corn and cane syrup. Additionally, the red fish pasta plate was better yet dry and the sauce, watery, with not much substance. Took almost an hour wait, and no drink refills. The gator appetizer was also all fry. We are generally gracious with food reviews, but this was the worst we’ve had in years. Hopefully the lack of quality is due to...
