My friend bragged on this place so we decided to grab some lunch last weekend... worst restaurant experience ever. I myself do not eat sushi but since they also offered hibachi I was eager to try this place out. Upon entering the restaurant we noticed how warm it was inside so we decided to dine outside in their courtyard. We were told we couldn't dine in the courtyard because they only had 2 servers and the courtyard was too far away from the server's sections. Mind you the server had to walk across the courtyard to get from our table to the kitchen. Next I was told that they weren't offering hibachi like advertised on the specials board on the street in front of the entrance. I opted for fried rice which we were told they weren't offering that day either. Upon inspecting the limited menu again I decided to get the chicken teriyaki under the kids section because it was literally the only thing left on the menu that I would eat. I was told then that adults couldn't order from the kid's menu. I even offered to pay more but i was still told no. I decided not to eat. My gf's son and my gf's cousin both ordered sushi and an appetizer. All 5 of us ordered water to drink. We got our appetizer of edamame with no small plates. Waited 10 mins on plates. So our server finally brought app plates when she brought their sushi. They put both of their sushi on the same plate. What the actually heck? My gf's cousin couldn't bare to eat her tuna roll because it tasted, smelled, and had the texture of tuna gone bad. Got our bill and they charged us $4 each for our water because they gave us 12 oz bottles of Desani water. They also made a big deal about us wanting to split the check and the manager refused to take off the cousin's tuna cuz she took a bite of it. Worst...
Read moreI like this location SO much better than the Keyser location. If you want the habachi grill experience go to Keyser- It's not that great of a show but if you've never been to one elsewhere you won't know the difference. If you want sushi & the habachi food (not having it cooked in front of you) with great atmosphere, service etc go to the front Street location. When weather is nice definitely take advantage of their nice patio area. They have great sake too. I like the cold apple sake especially in the summer! Oh and the plum wine as well. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly & accommodating. The food is great, I love the bento box lunch special available m-f. Last vusit we went for my Mom's birthday and they brought out ice cream w/ a candle & sang w/ us, it was so nice. The teriyaki beef was tender & sauce was delicious. My daughter loves the Alexandria roll, it has tempura fried shrimp. I really enjoy the gyoza but I wish they served it w/the brown dipping sauce like other Japanese places. The sauce isn't bad prefer the other. But if you are a fan of dumplings get the gyoza. The ginger dressing is good but the salad is basically just iceberg lettuce and a couple baby carrots on the side. It'd be nice to have some cucumber, tomato maybe some onion. Miso soup is good as well & you can't go wrong w/ California roll especially if you're not one for raw fish. I get mine with no fish eggs and they put black and regular sesame seeds in place of the eggs. I recommend this place highly, never have had a bad experience here. We will continue to eat here as long as they are around...
Read moreIf you have a food allergy, BE AWARE! This restaurant is the WORST I’ve been to ever. My husband ordered a vegetable tempura because he has a shellfish allergy. The girl puts “tempura” on the order and they give a shrimp and vegetable mix. That’s not the main issue I have with this restaurant. My main issue is their HORRIBLE response. They did NOTHING! I told the girl and she jokes and says “don’t die on me.” I’m clearly upset because this has NEVER happened. I ask if they have Benadryl and they told the girl no. They NEVER came to our table to show any concern for my husband who was SUFFERING in silence!!! He is a very sweet, quiet man and will never complain. His eyes were watering, his throat was scratchy and he was clearly uncomfortable. The management never apologized. They only let that poor girl handle everything which was making it worse in my opinion because she couldn’t do anything but keep checking. I asked for a refund for the improper order, and they said no because he ate it…. He ate one piece that made him feel horrible!!! I ate the rest because I don’t have an allergy. And on top of that, I didn’t eat ANY of my entree because I was so concerned for him. Did they offer a refund for ruining my meal and our night and causing my husband’s pain? NO…. Worst experience ever and that’s saying a lot being the...
