Pioneer Pub — Restaurant in Natchitoches

Food was great, environment was very cozy but service was sub standard. There were only a couple of people eating at tables and a couple of people drinking at the bar when we arrived at around 5:30 p.m. We sat down and were given menus right away, we put in drink orders and received our drinks right away as well. We took a few minutes to decide what we were eating, put in our order and received our food shortly thereafter. Everything went down hill from there, our waitress never once checked on us to refill drinks. After my family were all finished eating we waited for 15 minutes until I finally went up and asked our waitress for a togo box and the check. She said okay , I sat back down and she proceeded to refill drinks at another table and started taking an order from a new party that arrived. At this point I went up and asked another girl for a togo box and the check while our waitress was taking another order. The young lady brought us a togo box and again I asked for the check, she went to our waitress and then she finally brought it. I explained to her that we had been done eating for almost 30 minutes by this time and she never checked our drinks or us, she was apologetic but I expressed it would be reflected in the tip. I only left 2 dollars but shouldn't have left any. I will still give this place another chance because the food was good and served in a timely manner, the place was clean...

I USED to drive 2 hours pretty much every weekend to eat here! I was always bragging to people about "my favorite spot" Well... I got the opportunity to bring someone else that is from Texas. Huge Mistake! Sat down for over 20 minutes! No one even told us "Hello" The bartender that was Maybe 5 steps from our table was talking and laughing with people at the bar. I finally get up and ask her, "Ma'am, where should we order?" She looks at me like I am absolutely stupid. "Someone will come" then... She looks back at the bar guest, flips her hair very sassy and says, "So anyways...." WOW. Eventually got a waitress (BTW they were NOT busy) Food quality has declined so much! Not to mention that we got our appetizer AFTER our entree even though we ordered first. Yea.... They probably lost a long time customer. Rude staff and made us feel...

Smiling customer service only goes so far. They're slow to take your order, slow to clean a table, slow to get you a drink, slow to get your food. So overall, they're slow. Sure, they're busy, but it doesn't look like they have any kind of system . Food is mid. The BBQ wings tasted like they went down to the Piggly Wiggly and bought whatever BBQ sauce was on sale. The Wookie was almost too hot to eat. And just because your chef is from Maryland doesn't mean he can make a crabcakem Finally, I don't recommend ordering an appetizer and an entree. You will be here all day, and they might confuse your order with another table, or they forget to put your order in all together. I keep expecting Gordon Ramsey to walk in here like it's an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. They need that...
