I come here almost every single day. Personally, I hate drivethrus more than most. Somehow, people still seem to be unable to fully grasp the concept. It's impressive how incapable some people become in a drivethru. Usually, if i go to a place and their drivethru has no way to get out of line once you're in it, it's a hard pass for me. I'm not going to take that gamble and end up being stuck behind the afferentioned people that figure out a way to hold up an entire line of cars because they suddenly lost their ability to act right. If you've ever been held hostage by someone who took 5 minutes to order an amount of food that common decency would dictate you should go inside to order, and then close to 10 minutes at the window because somehow the place made their order exactly how they ordered it, but you spend the next several minutes watching the pitiful driver play an impromptu and unwanted game of hot potato with the poor cashier working the window, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't care how much I love the food somewhere. If I don't feel like going inside, then the obvious solution would be the drivethru. I could be on the brink of death, my only hope for survival is to get the only food in the world that can save my life that only this location can provide, but i must get it via the drivethru... if it is set up in a way that is inescapable. If such a person ends up in front of you, i think I'd just accept death. This dunkies has an inescapable drivethru. At first, I refused to get dunkin' donuts at all because of this. One day, I had ample time to waste, so I went through. The line was moving along quickly until the car in front of me got to the speaker to order. Regret and annoyance began bubbling up quickly. After several minutes of the woman screeching her massively complicated and long order at the workers, she finally could go to the window. I was getting myself prepared to spend a good chunk of the foreseeable future as a drivethru hostage as I quickly ordered my food. To my utter shock and delight, before I made it halfway to her car at the window, her car was on its way. I was gobsmacked at the speed the crew prepared her order, took her payment, and handed over all the food and drinks (there were two trays on drinks and 3 bags of food that looked like there were several food items in each. So, not a small amount) then had her on her merry way. I used to work for dunkin, at 3 seperate locations, as a teen. All had drivethrus. I know how long orders such as hers normally take, but this staff banged it all out in what seemed to be a minute or two at most. I even asked the cashier at the window if the woman's order was as big as it sounded and she rolled her eyes and said, "it was bigger," and I couldn't help but be sincerely impressed by the efficiency in handling that woman and her ridiculous order. I thought this must be a fluke, the crew that day must've been the dunkin donuts version of the dream team or something. But no, they are just super fast when it comes to their drivethru. Every time. They are good at this location. And staff are really nice, and once staff gets to know you after seeing you come in a few more times, they are even better. The amount of genuine belly laughs I've had with all of the staff there in the past several years of going to this location practically on a daily basis is up there. It's always sure to be a great start to my day when I stop at this dunks. They are truly the best...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo, I wanted a sourcream donut, but no one was taking orders because only one person was working. I had to use the kiosk, but they have only one and there was a line and the two people in front of me didn't seem to know how to use the kiosk, plus I noticed that you have to pay at the kiosk with the app because of a sign stating that there isn't anyone to take your cash payment. So I decided to download the app and place my order. But I noticed that the entire menu wasn't available in the app, just a selection of what they (DD) wanted to sell you, including, but not limited to half and full dozen donuts. I could see the variety of donuts available, but they were not available in the app. I asked the person that was attending to drive through and she said "whatever we have is in the app and I really don't have any control over that". I asked if I could order Ć-la carte and she said she couldn't take my order because she was busy and I needed to order from the kiosk or online. I let her know that what I wanted wasn't available in the app and if she could substitute the donut that I wanted and she said "no, I can't, whatever you order is what you will get". So I ordered in the app and asked her again if she could give me a sourcream donut instead of the glazed and she that she cannot. Plus I asked her for no ice in my cold brew and she still added ice saying that the app doesn't have a provision for no ice. So, bottom line is, I'm disappointed with DD for not having suficiente staff on duty and not having their application configured properly so we can order what we want and the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery dissapointed. The first time I ever experienced DD was in Chicago. I was hooked. The coffee and the donuts best ever. So when I found out that a DD will be only a 5 minute drive from home, I was excited. DD's opening day reminded of Game Day for a high school football team. Lines went out the door. Cars were lined up as far 2 blocks waiting to use the drive through.. They had the news media. Radio station and a high school band playing. Some people were there for the free donut. Then to find out it was free if you purchased a premade box of donuts. $14 for donuts that are not freshly made . Are you kidding? First Krispy Kremes closes the Santee location š¢ Where everyone was able to watch the donuts being made and you were given a complimentary donut just for visiting. Great customer service as well.
I expected DD to be even better than KK. Nope dissapointed. The donuts suck. The customer service is by far the worse. It's funny how some not all the employees can be so rude to customers.š¤ I thought our business helps keeps them employed. Anyhow. The coffee was OK. The donuts are not the greatest. Thanks to DD in National City , I learned to appreciate and enjoy other nearby donut shops like Winchell's and yum yums more. Freshly made donuts , great customer service and better tasting donuts. This DD in National City sucks. Save your money. Thumbs up to the franchise for even building one here in National City. It provided jobs just in time for...
