This is my place to go for special occasions. Mexican food at its finest. I come here for birthdays and Father’s Day. This place has been here for many years. Excellent place. My fav. Mexican restaurant to eat at. Highly recommend this place. Freshly made tortillas. Don't forget to tip the tortilla crew. They make fresh tortillas and are fantastic. This place made it thru the pandemic and that's impressive. The staff are very nice and professional. The huevos rancheros is my favorite plate. The caldo is also very good here. Totally recommend this eatery for the whole family. I believe this is a family owed business. You don’t need reservations here. Very clean place. Mexico atmosphere. No seating area outside. It would be a lot better if it had outside seating but there no room outside. It’s a small area outside. It’s in a great location in National City. A bit crowded on weekends between 11-12pm. I recommend before or after. The TV’s are always playing good Mexican concerts and videos. Not to load to disturb your meal with family and friends. It’s in typical strip mall. Almost every plate comes with moist rice and cheesy mashed pintos and, of course, tortillas. Very affordable for the whole family or just you and a friend. Right from Mom's kitchen. We know that you will savor and enjoy every recipes, brought to you from the staff and contemporary current Mexican cooking technics . Come on in, enjoy lunch or dinner in their festive large dining room. Either way you're in for the ultimate taste of Mexico style! You won’t be...
Read moreI hate to leave such a low rating because I love supporting small local businesses. As far as breakfast goes everything is bad. Bland, tasteless, lame... Almost like Army post dining hall food. They really need to remove French toast from their menu as a business suggestion. The French toasts I received were stiff and dry and tasteless and tiny; no powdered sugar, no white fluffy butter. No joke, they looked fake, like toy food; shrunk. Same goes for the omelette; ordered the house special and the chicken was dry and the egg overcooked. My wife ordered a more simple ham and cheese omelette and it came with that generic cube ham that of course isn't cooked. The coffee is weak in many ways; not hot, not strong, not toasty. I've eaten in many restaurants all over the world, especially Mexican food in Mexico. Even the hand made flour tortillas my mom was hyped about weren't yummy at all. We recently discovered flour tortillas at Walmart and those were better. The inside looked nice and cozy but don't go for breakfast. Maybe lunch/dinner is their...
Read moreFirst off the prices are outrageously high. I've eaten better food at higher quality Mexican restaurants and the dishes were priced lower than Casa De Oro. I ordered the carne asada rice and beans it was roughly about $16, the meat had a good grilled taste but was very dry, the beans were very thick and blah, the rice was tasteless, the homemade tortillas were delicious. I ordered a Sprite with my food, to my surprise they brought a cup of ice accompanied by a can of soda. After a couple of sips of my drink I realized that there was something black floating around in my cup so I had to let the waitress know and she brought me a fresh cup and can of soda. I'm not going to say that the food was horrible, but I wouldn't make Casa De Oro my first choice if given a choice. Murrietas in Bonita or Tio Leo's on mission gorge road have far better food and the dishes are not as expensive not to mention the atmosphere at these two establishments is...
