Coddington's On Meadow — Restaurant in Naugatuck

I used to go to Coddington's quite often several years ago and loved their food. I decided to go there after almost 20 years with my boyfriend who had never been there. We were seated pretty quickly and the owner came over and took our drink order after 5 minutes because the waitress was running around. We sat there for at least another 10 minutes until my boyfriend flagged our waitress down and asked if we could order. She seemed confused because she saw the drinks on the table already and couldn't remember if she had brought them over or not or if she already took our order. So she takes our order and we're sitting there for another 25 min waiting for our food. We had to flag our waitress down again and ask when our food would be out. She goes to check and we see her moving checks around (taking the last check and moving it toward the front) and comes back and asks if I had the mushroom and cheese omelette, and I told her no and she goes to check again and comes back and says there are still 5 orders before us. Everyone that was in the restaurant aside from one other family came in after us, so how were there still 5 tickets ahead of us???? She messed up royally and they didn't even care to accommodate us besides giving us our drinks for free. We said forget it and left without getting our food. Since living in the Naugatuck area I was told to try Coddington's because they serve some of the best and most affordable breakfast in town. Well, after trying them out on a few different occasions I can definitely agree with the consensus that they do indeed offer great food at an affordable price. I've tried a variety of items from their breakfast menu and I was never disappointed. Their breakfast sandwiches were always delicious and hearty. I had the veggie omelet the other day and it was awesome! It came with a good sized portion of their home fries (which by the way they speak for themselves in one word....YUM!) as well as your choice of toast, (I enjoyed their rye, but they also offer several other choices.) The omelet itself was a generous size and you can choose from a decent variety of cheese's. I've both eaten there and taken out and either way the experience was great. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the food is always served quickly and hot. So overall, I highly recommend giving this place a shot if you've never been. You definitely won't be...

Best bacon egg and cheese ever I live in bpt now and will still come here every now and then to get my sandwich. The grilled cheese is also good here they know how to do it right. Edit…They might make a good sandwich, but the way we were treated was terrible and for that I’m def not giving them anymore of my business. I called to order 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and a grilled cheese I called at 11:08 and the lady I spoke with told me it would be about 30 minutes because they were very busy, and I told her it was fine we get there and our order wasn’t started yet but we were like that’s fine we saw it was busy so we understand, but after standing there for an additional 20 mins I asked if our food was even started and she just brushed me off and told me no. I guess because we weren’t dining in and they thought they weren’t getting a tip so there was no urgency to our order.
