Do yourself a favor and look for the other local options. The food here is blah on a good day. After giving them 3 tries, that was the 3rd strike. Salsa is bland. Tortillas are not fresh. Flavor in the food is severely lacking. Margaritas are a syrupy, kool-aid tasting mess. The staff has also turned in the wrong order all 3 times: crispy tacos were soft, shrimp tacos were fish, huevos rancheros were simply scrambled eggs and nothing else. Come on, people. There's also the fake "holding the napkin on the plate and saying careful, hot plate" trick. Mildly warm is what it was. You would have better luck going to the grocery store and getting an El Patio frozen dinner. Benefits to this place are that it's easy in and easy out, it can handle large groups and for the most part the staff is friendly and attentive (except for not knowing what you ordered).

It's usually pretty busy because this is a small community and there are just a few Tex Mex options. BUT....they are worth finding! Eric's, next to Rattlers on Highway 90 beats La Casita to pieces all day, everyday and their 'Ritas are excellent. You can also go to Chela's or Chely's (2 different places) on La Salle. Chely's is actually behind a store front and hard to find but it's there. I've tried both and the food is FRESH and VERY tasty. Both are small family run places and Chely's is cash only. Breakfast at both places on Saturday morning were cause for return visits and the folks are so very friendly. I do not think that Chela's or Chely's serve any type of alcohol. Chely's salsa is to die for. Unreal.

Taqueria Potosina is also an option with a great review but I have yet to try that one. They're on Spur 515 on the south side of town. That will be the next Tex Mex in...

UPDATE: I had an early appointment and wanted Mexican food. Against my better judgement I decided to give la casitas another chance. But I was more cautious this time. I ordered one breakfast taco instead of 3. I ordered the chorizo and egg. The salsa was once again cold and the chorizo was so burned I couldn’t even finish my taco. I opened it up and could literally crunch the chorizo. I didn’t even finish half of it. It was so disgusting. The waiter did offer another one but I lost my appetite. I should have refused to pay for it but because of the taco being so disgusting I did not leave a tip. I’m so disappointed in La Casita from what it used to be. Weused to go la casitas a lot because we loved the salsa, food and service. But we stopped going a few years ago because the salsa was always cold, the food didn’t taste good and service was slacking. I wanted to pick up breakfast for someone recently and la casitas was the only Mexican food place opened at 8am so I decided to walk in and order myself breakfast before placing a to go order. I got the migues plate. It was so incredibly bland and tasteless, it had jalapeΓ±os in it and I couldn’t even taste them. The salsa was not good and the services wasn’t either. I love herraras behind the 7/11 and that’s where I will continue to give...

To simply say, there are better deals and atmosphere in the area.

The restaurant staff were not friendly. When she came to put the waters on the table, she pushed my arm out of the way.

Next, the lunch nacho plate is 10$ but the quality is terrible. On the plate, there are literally 6 small nachos with a small portion of toppings. It seems more like a cheap appetizer than a lunch deal. Next the chicken beef fajitas lunch special was 10$. At the end of dinner, there was a β€œmiscellaneous fee” on my receipt for $2. I asked what this was for and they said it’s because I got one chicken and one beef fajita. NOWHERE on the menu it states for an additional charge nor did the waitress mention the additional charges. The restaurant did remove the charge after I had to speak with a manager and show that there was no statement of additional charges.

Next, they automatically added a β€œgratitude fee” (self tipping) to my receipt. I’ve been to plenty restaurants in the area and they never have added a gratitude tip to your bill. They then request for an additional tip! NOWhERE in store nor menu does it state that a certain amount of people are required to pay a gratitude charge.

Lastly, water was leaking from the ceiling near the...

My 4th time having breakfast there and each time the service has been great , except for this last time when it was super busy and they only had 2 waitress for the whole restaurant. We wanted to order breakfast but we were told that it was gonna take longer to get our breakfast cus they were serving lunch so our order was gonna behind all those lunch orders and it was gonna take longer . Didn't make any sense but we had to change our breakfast food for lunch so we didn't had to be there more then what we needed to be . Their sopalpillas are out of this world.

La Casita Mexican Restaurant β€” what can I say! Me and my wife stopped in for breakfast and everything was absolutely delicious. I had the chimichanga breakfast and she had the Luis breakfast β€” both were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The orange juice was fresh and refreshing too! We also had amazing service. Martin was our waiter and he really made sure we had a great experience. He was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything the whole time. Definitely recommend La Casita for a tasty breakfast and excellent customer service! We will be back! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This place was really good! We had to drive a bit to get here, and always wanted to come as we saw it on our way to Conroe. We got the large queso to start. Everyone devoured it in no time. I got the tampiquena with grilled chicken. It came with 3 tortillas and filled me up! My wife got the sour cream enchiladas and had no complaints. My kids enjoyed fried chicken with curly fries. The waitress was nice enough and the atmosphere is what you'd expect with a more authentic tex-mex restaurant. It was all delicious and we will surely be back!
