So there's several issues. Billing - it's a joke. I'm never getting consistent answers from them for what I owe. When I finally received an itemized bill, the charges were absolutely ridiculous and when I tried to dispute them, the bills I was getting were still inconsistent.
To make a separate instance into a long story short, they can't even provide a simple throat lozenge - best they can do is apparently a jolly rancher, a caramel candy, and ice chips (the context is that I had been in the ER for several hours waiting for lab results that they had to drive to CStat for because their equipment or something was down. I was coughing so bad I was coughing up a bit of pink/red because my throat was so irritated). Essentially, the outcome was that they couldn't do anything and the labs reported normal (to this day I still don't know what they all tested for as they never provided me with clear results) and I was sent home after waiting 8ish hours.
The staff is a mixed bag - some are nice but some are overly rude. A staff member tried to grill into me about not being COVID vaccinated when they didn't have the slightest idea why I wasn't vaccinated and they didn't ask why I wasn't vaccinated (the short answer is my medical history and health, but they obviously didn't care as she was to interested int trying to condescendingly scold me like I was a child). Another staff member from the cleaning crew decided to jiggle the waiting room restroom handle violently 4 times within 1 minute of each time even after I loudly proclaimed it was occupied several times. I was in the middle of a sample since that's where they send people to complete the urinalysis. I guess patients don't deserve privacy?
Labs - the st. Joseph in Navasota apparently isn't on the electronic system that the st. Joseph's in Bryan are on. This means labs still have to be faxed or brought in by the patient. This inconsistency isn't major but it's an inconvenience AND it isn't clear to the patients when patients are selecting where they can go for their labs. Overall, there's a severe lack of communication between the st. Joseph's in Navasota and Bryan/CStat and it shows. Apparently the fax number changed one time and some offices in Bryan still had the old one. I'm not sure if it's Navasota or them but after my experiences with both, my guess is that it's Navasota.
If you use this place for anything, expect to have problems.
2 stars instead of 1 because of the staff members that are kind, the waiting room chairs are spacious, and I appreciate that Navasota has some sort of...
Read moreFirst off I walk in the receptionist is halfway decent I get it you hate your job. Then I walk into. The er dept where my brother had been brought in via ambulance and he looked as if he'd been abused ( he has communication issues) or suffered being attacked. Then we wernt even inside the glass cage from 1987 when this grayish blondish 40 something maybe 50 something nurse walks in demanding his urine. He had told me he wasn't comfortable and wanted to leave. I said yea dude this ain't a jail you're not being detained ask for an AMA form and tell them you want to leave. He sent me to find a nurse cuz they had him hooked up to an IV. Well here comes Amanda ( she refused to provide me with a last name) she was rude confrontational and aggressive and verbally made me feel abused ( I'm mentally disabled) by her negative demeanor. Stated he was fine til u got here" I said yes ma'am I advised him of his rights he wants to sign an aMA and leave. I'm contacting the ethics committee the ADA and filing a. Grievance with the state board and am in contact with a lawyer who specializes in discrimination suits. There is no reason for a nurse to be this abusive and unethical. Ever. She asked me to leave and i did. After an hr and a call to the hopsital admin my bro was set free with an incorrect diagnosis ( i took him to a less abusive facility) i get it ur a nurse who is hateful and a bad spirit. ur bad day is not my problem. i will always protect and stand up for and speak up against abuse.had she of become physical towards me. That wasnt near as bad as she made me feel as a human being. Idk why she wanted his pee so badly and ddnt want him signing an ama to leave but i sat in my car crying fewling like a useless human. she broke my spirit and made me lose faith in humanity. Set me back and i almost had to go to. I know that no dedicated educated licensed RN would never act this unethical unless she is mentally unstable and is gonna end up killing someone by her awful attitude and abusive personality. She mistook me for being naive and stupid because of my physical appearance. Shes a liabilty to this facilty and when someone asks to leave. Let them. Why is she allowed to mentally verbally abuse handicapped guests? Watch this vile slore of a human closely. Her attitude is a disgrace. i did not deserve that. no telling how many people shes abused that cant or wont come forward.Trailer park nurses is why nobody comes to that facility. She needs a change in career field. Shed make a great prison guard. The Dr on duty on friday 5.16.24 at 1pm needs to...
Read moreOn September 12th, we had to take my son to the ER for a broken collarbone from his football game. Being from out of town, it was easy to find and a short distance from the Navasota football field.
As I checked him in, the admissions personnel was so understanding that we still had school insurance that needed to he added to the file. The image I recieved wasn't quite readable so she ensured me that she would call the school the next morning and for me just to focus on my son.
Our nurse April was amazing. She showed such wonder bedside manner to a young boy in pain. She took her time and allowed him to do things at his pace. The information she provided was on level for him to understand.
The radiology department was was amazing. They were able to take his images without causing him any further pain. I even forgot to get copies of the images, so I called the next day and they had then waiting for us to pick up that day. This worked out great because we had a follow up appointment to the orthopedic on Friday per the doctor's recommendation.
The doctor was able to provide us his professional opinion and got us on our way quickly as possible.
April finished up with instructions for the injury. She even had school notes ready as they didn't think my son would be up for school a couple of days due to pain.
I would recommend this hospital ER to anyone that finds themselves in the area and...
