We would NEVER RECOMMEND due to ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SERVICE we've ever had. Service was so bad by the waitress taking our order we walked out before even trying the food. Judging by other recent reviews about a particularly rude lady, she may have actually been an owner, I'm not sure on that however. Either way, she must not care at all about getting return customers or representing the restaurant in a positive light.
I'll note the lady who seated us was nice, the gentleman that got our drinks was nice. However the lady who came to take our order was rude, unprofessional, and hateful. She was snappy from the start, bad attitude, 'I hate life' tone in her voice - just a bad demeanor overall.
I asked a question about a dish, if I could add mushrooms, her reply, in a snappy voice: 'For $2.50.' I simply said 'no that's okay, I won't do that,' and I ordered a different dish. She snapped the menus out of our hands and said to my wife and I if we 'didn't like prices, then stay home.' That was it for us.
We said 'okay, we'll leave...the price is not the issue, it's your attitude.' So we started to leave. As we walked out, she said to my wife walking in front of me 'don't ever come back' to which my wife replied 'we just moved down here and you're the rudest person I've ever met!' We won't be back!' and I sternly asked her 'Do you think with your attitude we would ever come back? Don't worry, we won't.'
This lady had the audacity to came back with a middle finger and a 'f**k you' as we walked out the door. This scene was in front of other patrons. Very professional. /s
It was almost unbelievable. It's by far the rudest, most asinine interaction we've ever had at a restaurant, or really any public place I can recall, and we're fairly well traveled people.
If I could give negative stars I would. If you want 'down home, good Southern Missourian service with a smile,'...
Read moreMy husband and I used to go to Angel's Cafe every weekend for breakfast or lunch until our youngest son became severely disabled in automobile accident. I decided today I wasn't feeling up for making breakfast today and went to Angel's Cafe for and order if biscuits and gravy with two biscuits only. I paid over 12 dollars which included $1 tip considering it was to go. I have no idea what has happened to this place but I will NEVER come back again. The price used to be just under $7 dollars for two biscuits with gravy and it was huge biscuits and enough gravy for both. Today the biscuits were little there wasn't enough gravy and the taste was terrible. The biscuits were burnt and felt like rubber trying to eat them, the gravy was runny and the flavor was non existent. I could've went to Hardee's and bought the same amount of food for half the price and had better quality and taste the Angel's Cafe. I have no idea what happened to this family owned Mexican restaurant but they are clueless as is what is except able to serve and what is a reasonable price to charge for some damn biscuits and gravy. The cheapest thing on the menu to make and it was over $10. I will make sure and tell everyone I know to think twice next time they think about eating here. Absolutely ridiculous. And I usually don't give bad reviews I give them the benifit of the doubt but not this time. Disgusting and expensive. I through the junk in the trash and went and bought the stuff to make my own which had always been better then any restaurants. I should've...
Read moreAs we walked in the staff was extremely hateful, we sat down and when trying to ask about items/recommendations the staff was standing in the kitchen doorway talking about and going on to get high making the restaurant smell of weed. (To each their own but do it outside to not impact patrons!) Then when I finally got the waitress attention to ask about the “jumbo shrimp” there was no notice or details that it was coconut shrimp which is a major allergy. Then we had 2 baked potatoes that were over extremely cooked/old & the sour cream packets brought out with them were more than 3 weeks expired but not realized until we covered our potatoes and took a bite. The ribeye steak my husband ordered was about 1/4 inch thick and was basically a steak from Dollar Tree, the corn was bad (like rotten). The waitress never checked on us other than 1 time yelling from across the restaurant about needing refills. When we left (my shrimp and potato uneaten because ALLERGY) I had to wait and get attention of the staff to be able to pay, I advised that the sour cream was 3 weeks expired and got a very fake “oh…” never an apology or even a glimpse of remorse. We’re traveling through and I want to ensure no one else wastes money when tv dinners tastes WAY better than ANY of this! WORST MEAL...
