I have never in my life dealt with someone so careless, rude, and flat-out unfit to be working in customer service. A girl named Sierra was taking orders today and it was hands down the most unprofessional interaction I’ve ever had at an El Pollo Loco, or any fast food restaurant for that matter.
From the moment I stepped up she looked like she didn’t want to be there. No hello, no basic manners, just blank stares and attitude. She rushed my order like she had better things to do, completely ignored what I said, and still managed to get it wrong. And when I brought it up, she rolled her eyes like I was the problem. No accountability, no effort to fix it, nothing. Just lazy energy like she couldn’t care less.
But the worst part? She smelled absolutely awful. I don’t know if it was body odor or dirty clothes but it was strong and disgusting. I was standing there wondering how someone in food service is allowed to clock in smelling like that. It made me question the cleanliness of the whole place.
I’ve been a regular here for years and the staff has always been respectful, fast, and clean. But Sierra made this entire location look bad. I honestly don’t know what kind of standards this place has now but if this is who they’re hiring, it’s going downhill fast. She had no interest in doing her job, looked like she just rolled out of bed, and clearly doesn’t take pride in anything. Lazy, smelly, rude, and miserable. She’s the kind of employee that makes people turn around and leave.
I assume she’s new because someone like that would’ve stood out instantly. I don’t care how short-staffed they are, people like this should not be allowed behind a register. Many many times I’ve driven through the drive-thru with the family and as soon as we ask for a family meal they respond it’s a 45 minute wait or we ran out of chicken I’m sorry. What, a chicken place ran out of chicken! After asking staff what’s going on at this location a kind young lady informed me that they have a new manger and We will not have to worry about the chicken shortage due to poor management. It’s been a few months and it hasn’t improved with being able to order the items that you want or if you are lucky enough to get the items that you want by the time you get home you will realize that items are missing or incorrect.
