Lucy's Waffles & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Nevada

Not the type of person to leave reviews but last night was one of the most horrible customer service I’ve ever received. We came in, saw two ladies at the front, one instructing the other on how to use the new waffle machine. Ordered a waffle, cashier told us it would be a 5 min wait for the waffle because the machine is new, no problem. She was the only one working, so we understood delays. However we waited for 20 MINUTES the lady came out with a bunch of waffles pieces split into 4 and said she wasn’t sure why it’s not cooking correctly, no problem. Waited for another 10 minutes, we looked over she STILL couldn’t get past the waffles. At this point it’s been 30-40 minutes since we’ve been in the store and she’s finished making all the drinks for the 4 kids who ordered before us and we were still sitting there. We stood up and told her we understand it’s not working we would just like a refund, she said okay. Then she came back asking if we would just like the ice cream without the waffles omg. We said no please we would just like a refund. We walked over to the cash register, she’s STILL standing at the waffles??? We walked over to her again and said Miss we would like our refund we have somewhere to be, that’s only when she called her manager to ask how to make a refund… As she’s at the register trying to figure out the refund and on the phone with the manager she went back to the waffles AGAIN just to see if it’s working??? While we were just standing there and that was final straw so we told her stop checking the waffles we need to leave please refund us in any form that she can and she replied “I’m trying”, no apologies for the wait up until we got our refund. Horrible service, understand that she was the only one working but I’m a customer service worker myself and that was...

You don't get what you pay for as far as the portion size is concerned. Normally, smaller/private owned businesses like these will charge you an arm and a leg for not a very generous size because they feel forced to compete with bigger franchise businesses who are in higher demand and who sell much better, so as a result in order to not lose money and have to shut down they charge a higher price to stay afloat and in business. I get that because of our current state of economy right now there is a higher inflation and tarrifs on certain goods and products, but if they don't stop overcharging and make the items on their menu more budget friendly and affordable for the customer, then they are going to lose customers not gain more of them. This business rips people off, so if I were you, then I would go anywhere else but there that has just as good quality food and drinks for a more affordable price. I paid almost $15.00 for a Milkshake there that was the size of a small milkshake, not to mention half of what they put in it was mostly whipped cream, so you're essentially paying for the cost of a whole meal including a drink anywhere else for a tiny little milkshake that doesn't even taste like a real thick milkshake. Nice customer service, they are super funny & friendly. Very understanding that tourists have a lot of stuff in their hands, had no problem with me when i came in with my food & shopping bags from somewhere else. Great coupons. Although, i do wish they had a little bit more selection of flavors, there was still a flavor for almost everyone. I did go in the winter, however, so i might have just came at an off season for them. The cold Ice cream and hot waffle combination was so extraordinary! You can also tell the people working here know their desserts are good, they were so excited for us to try it! We ordered the strawberry cheesecake with strawberry sauce drizzle for our first waffle, and the mint & chip for our other waffle, we put Oreo crumbs on top and it was MUAH! So good. They both also came with whipped cream on top. i highly recommend this place. It was so flavorful, but never too sweet. The atmosphere was so fun to be around, so much to look at!
