After hearing about this place from my brother and SIL with glowing reviews my wife and i were excited to check this place out for ourselves.
We were quickly greeted as we entered and seated by a super friendly server lady who took a quick order from us for some appetizers and drinks (Fried Calamari, Fried Ravioli, Sprite and a beer)
i forgot to take a picture of the fried calamari and ravioli but they were delicious. The calamari were soft and seasoned excellently, and the ravioli had a pleasant bouncy bite with a super delicious cheese filling that turned out to be pretty hot as i bit in lol. They each came with some marinara sauce for dipping which wasn't necessary but added a nice hit of tomato and herbs that was nice.
for our mains we got the Novella pizza and an order of lasagna that both my brother and SIL always get, a caprese salad, a pesto salad, pasta diablo, and shrimp scampi.
i have no idea how to describe the Novella special pizza other than being something that looked pretty ridiculous with the prosciutto and burrata but jfc did it hit with the flavors. definitely one of the best pizza's i've had the opportunity to have. for a pizza that didn't have a layer of sauce it had a ton of flavors hit with each bite.
the shrimp scampi was creamy and the shrimp bouncy and juicy with a surprisingly light hit of lemon that was enjoyable.
the pasta diablo is 100% my all time favorite pasta dish from any italian place that serves pasta i've ever been to. for me it hit all the right notes, the sausage was spicy yet juicy and meaty, the pasta had that little snap as i bit in while still being deliciously chewy but that sauce.. for something that green pepper, onion, and mushroom it had so much flavor of spices that just completely blew away any other type of marinara or meat sauce i've ever had. this is absolutely my go-to pasta dish if i ever feel like pasta.
both pastas had these little breadsticks that were actually super tasty. i think they were glazed with garlic butter and some parmesan, it was so delicious. the type of breadstick where you just kinda remember that bread can be pretty awesome.
i also had a brocolli cheddar soup that i forgot to take a picture of but it's the best brocolli cheddar soup i've ever had. the cheese wasn't clumpy or oddly viscous like velveta, instead it was an actual cheesy soup that had a hint of brocolli which didn't taste frozen while also being chopped to just right sizes for each spoonful to be super pleasant.
we somehow had room for dessert so we tried the Tiramisu, an order of the zeppolis, and a cannoli. the tiramisu is incredible, very moist and actually had a tasty hint of coffee and the zeppoli were unnecessarily tasty for what is essentially fried doughballs with powdered sugar. so good! that cannoli was crunchy, flaky, and creamy. absolutely perfect.
this spot is pretty tucked away but if you're ever hankering for some delicious Italian food without breaking bank for crappy portion sizes this place is an absolute no-brainer recommendation.
apparently they have sandwiches, a burger, and wings? i know i'll be...
Read moreThis was our first time dining at Novella and we have loved it 🥰 !!! Absolutely phenomenal experience. It is such a beautiful restaurant with incredible authentic Italian food. A hidden gem ,located right in the heart of Spring Valley. The restaurant is so bright and inviting, beautifully decorated with gorgeous artwork on the walls. It is very clean, nice and overall great atmosphere. It is not too big, but not too small either, perfect size for a dining room and they have a bar too.
The food is DELICIOUS 😋!!! This place is run by a real chef! He literally is making amazing food for the fairest prices and the portions are great too. This man cooks with his heart. You can tell the food is amazing by the fresh taste and they use the quality ingredients . It is nice to go to a restaurant where the food is prepped in house-made fresh from the scratch. The menu is very diverse and there were so many options , anyone would be able to find something they will love!!! We have tried their : crispy fried calamari- MUST TRY ( the best in Vegas that we have had) , chicken piccata, portobello mushroom ravioli and calzone pizza. Some of the best portobello mushroom ravioli we have ever had. They explained that the pasta is made from scratch, which explains the soft texture. They serve every dish with two garlic breadsticks and they are to die for- THE BEST BREADSTICKS, FRESHLY BAKED TO THE PERFECTION, definitely a MUST TRY ! We have also had a tiramisu and a cannoli for dessert and again very delicious 😋.
The staff were very nice and helpful . The Service from the owner Victor is very welcoming, attentive, and friendly. He does everything from front of house duties to food preparation, cooking, takeout orders, answering the phone, and attending to customers. It was very nice to have an honest conversation with the owner which is not common in most restaurants these days. He is very passionate about his restaurant and he truly cares and takes pride in his food.
No need to go to the Strip or a more expensive Italian restaurant. This is The Spot!!! We encourage anyone looking for an amazing Italian food to come check it out! You won't be disappointed! We highly, highly recommend it!!!

The food was all very tasty and well cooked! All of the chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The alfredo sauce had rough chopped garlic in it that was PERFECTLY softened. The chicken parm sandwich was DELICIOUS, and I don't usually go for sandwiches. I love éclairs, and this one was far better than most. Small, but so good! The chocolate gelato was really good too! It had chocolate chips in it that weren't rock hard.
Most pastas were $17.99. None of them come with a protein, (except for, I assume, the lasagna) but it's only $4.00 to add chicken or change to meat sauce. To me, that sounds really pricey, but when I think about it, that's currently pretty average pricing, even when the food is not good. (The sandwiches are around 12-14 and come with fries or salad and they also have pizza, non-pasta entrees, salads, soups, etc. They really have a lot to choose from.)
The inside of the restaurant was not finished because its new, but it definitely has potential!
I think it was the owner and/or chef that came out and ended up giving our daughter the gelato. He and our waitress were great, on top of everything else!
Overall, I was very impressed. I don't usually go out for italian food because a lot of times I can easily and quickly make better food myself, for far less money, but the food we had here was better than mine, therfore worth going out and paying for.
Thank you! We will be back and look forward to seeing what this restaurant is like once they finish the "start...
