Rachel's Kitchen Express — Restaurant in Nevada

What a great little surprise this turned out to be! I've frequented the traditional Rachel's Kitchen business model on plenty of occasions, it was my first time visiting this accessible, customizable version of their restaurants and I'm impressed! First of all, the owner JL, who was manning the counter and took care of the execution of my order, was delightful. Personable, professional, and very customer service oriented. He made my Mediterranean bowl exactly as I requested and I thoroughly enjoyed it while sitting on a nice shady table in the patio. The clincher was the pecan bar with a shortbread crust that JL so lovingly described as "addictive" 😁 and he wasn't lying!!! I could have eaten 4 but then I'd have to do 3 extra hours of Pilates 😋😫 I truly enjoyed every aspect of my meal and will definitely return often....

The food taste was fine, and the soup was average. Chicken Salad was good. The bread on 2 of our sandwiches was stale, meaning hard to the touch (regular sandwich bread). I asked for a softer bread, and they made me a new one (same bread), which I appreciated. It was softer for about 5 minutes and started to become hard again (it was terrible, just ate the chicken salad off the bread). They store the bread in the cooler, nuked it to soften. We'll when you do that, once the bread cools, it starts to harden again. Not fresh bread, IMO. The person who took our order seemed to have an attitude. The place was not welcoming. Walked in one day (after going a few times) and walked all the way down to the end where you start telling them everything you want in your bowl/salad. The girl doesn’t even say anything or welcome me in. Then she stands at the cashier stand like that’s where I’m supposed to go first even though that’s never been the case, because what if you don’t know you want to add something extra? Then it would be on you to pay again. She had a bad attitude so i left. Next time i come in, it’s back to the original way. hmm. Also ordering their breakfast sandwich… they give me a different bread each time. Like please...
