Founders Coffee at Durango happens to be close to work and to home and has become a new-found favorite of mine. It is a completely different atmosphere than their Henderson location. I really like both. This one is more dark colors, black, red, some darker greenery, couches, some communal tables, lots of small Bistro tables and red industrial looking seats and stools. They offer free wifi for their customers. They also offer drive-thru and on-line delivery options. I've been to this location several times and I really like it. The menu consists of creative coffees, lattes, smoothies, teas, lemonades, bakery items, and made-to-order breakfast, brunch, and lunch options. Lots of creative, seasonal, monthly offerings as well. I've ordered the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake latte both hot and cold and can honestly say it is my favorite over all the other pumpkin spice latte options at other places. The cream cheese foam that is at the top of this drink is awesome. Mixed into the drink, it elevates it to beyond awesome status. I also enjoyed the Marshmallow Ghost Peep seasonal latte (delicious- why aren't marshmallow lattes a thing?), the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Mocha latte (OMG yes!), and the Hula Girl Latte (Dark Mocha, Caramel and Coconut - delicious). They have flights of their lattes as well and look forward to trying a flight or two in the near future. I've also enjoyed a couple of bakery treats they'll warm up for you. Most notable are the pumpkin cheesecake brownie and their coffee cake (awesome mid-layer brown sugar cinammon goodness and a great traditional coffee cake crumble topping). The interior is always extremely clean and orderly. They play great (to me) music at an acceptable volume level. The restrooms are clean as well. They also have a couple of patio tables and chairs out front. Dog friendly? Yes. The staff is outstanding. They are all genuinely friendly and they take care with preparing your order right. They are great with suggestions and are very knowledgeable about their menu offerings. They also are very accommodating with special requests. There is plenty of free parking directly in front and around to the side. This is a specialty coffee place that is locally-owned company so the pricing (to me) is about what's expected- which is a bit more than a chain coffee place. I do feel they serve a much higher quality product. I highly recommend giving this great place a try! You won't be...
Read moreI don’t think I’ll be back. They tried to make their drinks too complicated. It sounded better on paper than drinking it.
Family friendly: yes Parking: small shared lot Pet friendly: yes only because I saw a small dog in the coffee stop
DRINKS: coffee flight - there were 4 of us with 4 flights. We all had very mix reviews… Tiramisu Latte (latte topped with espresso foam): 2nd favorite. It didn’t taste anything like tiramisu but it was decent tasting coffee. Spring showers (lavender latte topped with purple lavender whip and raindrop sprinkles): ughhhh I hate lavender. I will say this was a lot more mild lavender taste than other bake goods/ice cream/coffee. The bulk of the soap flavor was in the whipped cream so if you can get past it or use a spoon to scrap it off, than you’re good lol Dirty scotch (butterscotch cold brew with a chocolate butterscotch candy rim): 3rd choice but pretty much this was a water down cold brew that lack flavor. Butterfly latte (butterfly pea tea latte with vanilla and coconut): oddly my favorite of all 4 drinks. The tea wasn’t very strong, no vanilla, and light coconut flavor. Two of our flight had a foam on top and two didn’t. We knew it was ended up being two different barista making it but no consistency in he presentation.
RESTAURANT/MENU: I came to Founder’s coffee because I saw a photo of their coffee flight on IG. Everything sounded really good (yes, even the lavender that I don’t ever like). They have a pretty good menu of different drinks and coffee shop types food (breakfast sandwiches, different hipster toast, baked goods, etc.)
The coffee shop is a lot bigger than it appears from the outside. Small round tables, some counter tables, large tall table in the middle, and a couple of couches for a lounge area. It’s very clean and streamline in their decor.
SERVICE: I don’t know how I should rate them… everyone was friendly but like typical coffee shop friendly. When I first arrive, there was about 3 parties in front of me to order with not cashier around. It was slightly confusing because they have a similar set up where pick up order was close to the cashier. I actually thought everyone was just standing around waiting for...
Read moreI went here for brunch with my friends to catch up and it was okay. The place is cute and they have a decent sized menu. The cashier was nice and patient while we made our choices. All of the tables that were open were dirty, they did have napkins available to use but while we were there we didn’t see an employee clean off any of the tables. Our food and drinks themselves were also okay. I had gotten a matcha and the breakfast burrito. The matcha wasn’t the best quality and didn’t have the rich green color that culinary or ceremonial grade matcha has. My breakfast burrito was good, besides the potatoes in it as they were grainy and undercooked. One of my friends got the açaí bowl and it was as if it was a frozen block kind of thawed out. There were large icy chunks and then liquid at the bottom, rather than a consistent smoothie bowl texture. He also got the limited edition Star Wars flight which we thought was the most disappointing food item. The cashier checked with the cooks/baristas and said they had one left, but when they brought it out it had none of the toppings and they said they didn’t have them. We thought that was odd that they would still sell it to him then if they didn’t have the toppings because that’s what made the flight look Star Wars. The drinks themselves were not very balanced flavor wise, it was either very strongly coffee or very strongly sweet and the flavor it was meant to be. We also saw a jar of the gummy frogs they were supposed to put on one of the drinks. If they had them, I don’t see why they didn’t put one on, but also if they were not good to use then it should have been thrown away. My other friend got a croissant sandwich and a coffee which he said was decent.
Overall, we had an okay experience but I don’t think we will be coming again. We had all seen a lot of reels and posts about this place, and it looked really good. However, I think in trying to offer a large menu and trending items the quality of the...
