I normally don't even write reviews but I HAD too this time. I've been going to Stir Krazy since 2019. It was easily my favorite place to go in Vegas for Monogolian stir fry. The food was amazing and the customer service was EXCEPTIONAL. Through the years I noticed the change in management & customer service staff but ALWAYS received friendly Customer service. Today I walked in early, a little after 11am, as I was craving noodles. Immediately I noticed a few faces had changed again, new cook, and new manager I believe. I recognized one server and he greeted me and I told him I wanted 1 bowl to go. He came back with bowl and whispered "please don't touch the food." He said it so low I had to bend down and asked him to repeat what he said in my ear. He said " Just don't touch the food. They are really strict now." I said oh okay no problem and proceeded to add food to my bowl. I had major surgery, myomectomy, last wednesday which causes my to walk slow and I can't reach too good. Needless to say when placing food in the bowl with the tongs I was dropping some pieces of the veggies. Mind you, the lady in front of me was doing the SAME thing and it didn't seem as if she was struggling with any pain. She also made a joke about dropping food while transferring it to her bowl. As I was moving down the line, the woman whom I believe was the manager came up to me and said "HEY, CAN YOU DO ME A FAVOR? IF IT (FOOD) DOESN'T FIT IT DOESN'T FIT! YOU'RE MAKING A MESS!" THE WAY SHE SAID AND THE LOOK SHE GAVE ME WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND NASTY. All I said was "Oh okay." I put my noodles in my bowl and proceeded to hand my bowl to the cook. The Customer service guy who greeted me at the door asked " you don't want the extra meat?" as that's what I usually order and I said "No, I won't be coming back here." He brought me my check and as I was paying I said "New management?" He put both hands up and said " I don't know." I took that as he's trying to keep his job and can't really say anything and is the reason why he tried to fore warn me when I entered the resturant. As I was driving home, I was really upset, as I've NEVER been treated so badly at that restruant and knew I just loss 1 of my favorite places to go to eat. I really don't want to bring this up but I don't know what else could make her talk to me so horribly. Because at the end of the day, I, a BLACK WOMAN, was the ONLY ONE who got talked down too and the WHITE woman in front of me was NOT approached and talked to so horribly. I really hope that my skin color was not the cause but no matter what, NOBODY SHOULD BE TREATED THE WAY I WAS TREATED THIS MORNING. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. Just thought people...
Read more2023 edit: Another price increase for all you can eat. Now it's priced about the same as most other AYCE-style restaurants. There are now a couple new add-on items, but as before, none of them are included in the price.
2022 edit: Had to knock a star off due to the recent price hikes and schedule changes. Sundays are now closed, and all you can eat is now $8 more. With one bowl at dinner time (3pm, really?) costing you $15. Most of everything you love is still here though. Great staff and food. But for around $5 more you can go to almost any AYCE-style restaurant and have a much larger menu to order from plus dessert and special items are included. Here, you can pay for AYCE but no extras are included (shrimp, egg, lamb, dessert. Not even just one of each). With gas prices the way they are and this place being almost an hour drive from home, coming back here will be a tougher sell for me. If I lived closer I could see myself coming in for lunch occasionally.
Original review from 2018: One of the best places to eat in Las Vegas. Not many sit-down restaurants can have have your food ready in less than 5-10mins from when you walk in the door. Always fresh tasting, make it your way, fast and friendly service. All you can eat for $13.99. Don't skip dessert. My only gripes are the single location (it's very far from where I live) and that they close...
Read moreHello. I'm a World-Traveler and local. I have eaten around the world from hole in the walls to the most prestigious establishments.
I see the 4 star reviews and this place has a 4.7.
I can't help but think that those who've given this establishment high marks have never actually eaten at a Mongolian Styled establishment.
First let's start out with the good.
The place was clean The staff was friendly The food was great
Now the bad.
They say it's all you can eat. Was there during "lunch" and that was not the case at all. That apparently was dinner special only.
The food while yes good, had the options you'd expect at a snack bar at school. Standard and absolute basic.
Third the noodles? WHERE ARE THEY? It's unusual to see 1 noodle option at these places and why are they at the end? Odd.
Finally the worst part was the abysmal sauces which play such a fierce role in places like this. What they had wouldn't classify as sauces, more like oil topping. House, really a house sauce is ALL YOU HAVE? I've never seen less then 6 types. House, oyster, Mongolian, thai peanut, coconut, bbq, some spicy variants, then you'd have oils.
Overall food and staff was great but expectation wise fell very short.
3.5 at best 4.7 is a huge stretch.
Would I eat...
