Myself and some friends came here last weekend for karaoke and had a great time and we came back this weekend for karaoke again. There’s a pool table in the karaoke room. Some people who had already sang and were waiting to go again start playing pool and no one, not the guy running karaoke, not the regulars, literally no one said anything or seemed to mind the pool being played. It wasn’t loud, the music is definitely loud enough to cover the sound of pool balls. Next thing we know the “security guard” literally grabs the guy playing and shakes him around by trying to grab the pool stick and starts yelling in his face on some “the pool table is closed during karaoke” over and over. The dude playing wasn’t even arguing back, he was just like “okay???” Because he was so shaken up by being jostled like that, yelled at, and embarrassed because it was in front of everyone over literally nothing. If it’s THAT serious of a rule, PUT A SIGN UP. Because that’s ridiculous and I know some people wouldn’t be as calm if that happened to them. Dude clearly gets a power trip over being “security”. Never spending money at this establishment ever again which is a shame because the other members of staff have been so kind and the vibes of the bar were chill. There’s other reviews I’m seeing complaining of the security guy too so this clearly isn’t a one off. So if you want to come here and get essentially assaulted and then told to leave over rules that aren’t expressed verbally or posted anywhere, then this is the perfect place for you and...
Read moreWhen the new owners bought this bar a little over a year ago they already had patrons that were regulars almost every night and even more that came on weekends. I will say this much. The new owner did put in a lot of new additions and helpful things throughout the bar that really upped its value. Although, Since the owner is African-American he's got it in his head but it needs to be a predominantly black bar but I think it is silly to run off patrons they like to go there and spend their money because they're the wrong skin color and not dark enough. I am a white male and I was hired in the beginning to be a bouncer "security" because things were getting a little unsafe so he hired me to come in on certain days and keep order but also keep the fun going. Pretty much anyone that gets obnoxious is getting tossed out. Well I did my job well enough to where people knew better than to act a fool there but once that was established he stopped using me and started using this other gentleman because his skin was darker. I must say I thought I knew the owner and I thought he was a better man than that but that was...
Read moreWe typically hang out here and shoot a game or two of pool. Typically have a good time however this past Saturday night we were approached by the owner to pay a cover after having been in the bar around an hour. Absolutely had the choice to leave, but we were in the middle of a game and I thought WTH, explained I had no cash but would be happy to pay the post entry cover charge and mentioned I would just add it to my tab at the bar… The owner seemed fine with that but then said they have an ATM - which is fine, but having to pay the $5 per the two of us plus bank fees seemed like having to pay interest on money I was happy to pay initially, and paid after the fact on my tab but after having a good nights sleep and thinking about it, I am not happy about the way any of it was handled and no longer consider myself a customer. I hope your experience is...
