Top-notch all the way around. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all a solid five stars. Everything we ordered was delicious and prepared perfectly. Everything else we watched coming out of the kitchen looked like it was just as excellent. They nailed a perfect combination of presentation and taste. The cocktails were well executed, too. The lava cake is out of this world good. We loved the shrimp cocktail, too. A lot of places think they can do shrimp cocktail, but they canât. The Fair does shrimp cocktail very well.
If you remember what this space looked like before, youâre going to be blown away by how great it looks now. The layout, the colors, the lighting, the volume, the bar, the booths, the table arrangement, the table lights, the spacing, and the decoration come together so nicely. Itâs not a very wide space, but it felt so open. I felt like I had a ton of space and somehow there were still a lot of people there.
I get the feeling they paid attention to even the smallest details when designing the layout and the customer service experience. Everything felt purposeful and flowed perfectly from the minute I stepped in to the minute I stepped out. The door wasnât just a door. It felt like there was a touch of magic when I stepped over the threshold. It had a special feel to it.
Every single person working there cared about our experience. From the host stand when we walked in all the way back to the kitchen, everyone cared. They saw someone drop a napkin and immediately walked over to their table to hand them a new one. Nobody had to ask. They were paying attention. When our food was delivered, our server made sure it was perfect before she left and if it wasnât, she was going to get that correction started immediately. She left no room for us to be disappointed if something would have needed to be fixed. She didnât wait two minutes to come back and ask if our steak was cooked the way we liked it. She didnât try to catch us with a mouthful of food, either. All of the other staff that were assisting her did an excellent job. Everyone was professional and personable.
For the quality of food, the quality of service, and atmosphere, the price was more than right. We ordered a ton of food and some drinks, but the bill was still a whole lot less than I thought it was going to be.
We will be back, for sure. Do yourself a favor and check it out. They do it right...
Read moreWent here in a group of 6 for my momâs birthday. She mentioned it was her birthday when making the reservation, but they didnât even seat us in a booth, we were sat at an extra table in the front with little room. The ambiance was nice in the rest of the room though.
The complimentary butter and bread were very good. And the meatballs were great, but that and the cream spinach were the only things there that had any seasoning. The Salmon and potatoes were just raw fish and boiled potato, not even salt.
The meatballs were an okay size, but the actual entree portions were very scarce. The Alfredo was like 12 noodles and 3 cherry tomatoes. The food is criminally overpriced for what you actually get. If it was cheaper, they would have gotten a higher rating because the Alfredo wasnât all that bad.
The service wasnât bad either, but a little weird. He did say she gets a dessert for her birthday, but that was the only time he acknowledged it. We also tried to make jokes with him to fill the space while deciding what to order and share what we liked/wanted and he ignored the jokes and only gave recommendations about what he liked and tried to push to order things that we expressed we didnât enjoy (the spicy chocolate sauce for their cheesecake). And he asked how we liked things frequently and he was overly attentive when things were fine, but when we did tell him we had an issue with our dishes he literally walked away.
It was a subpar experience and subpar food, It wasnât like it was 0/10 but I...
Read moreMy husband and I rarely have time to date nights due to our boysâ very busy sports schedules. I must say this was a very memorable date nights weâve for us both. Walking in, I immediately loved the ambiance and vibe. The detail of the light fixtures, bar, wall hangings, and even the blue velvet chairs and booths was right up my alley.
Robert was our waiter and he did a fantastic job with explaining the dishes, he told us about the family businesses and knew history and facts about the dishes that impressed the heck out of me! He kept checking in on us, making sure we had drinks and water and nicely boxed up our take home items at the end of dinner/desert.
My husband started off with escargot which is rare to find as well as a half dozen oysters which he absolutely loved! The warm bread with specialty herb seasoned butter was also a great appetizer for me as it took me several minutes to decide what I wanted. Everything looked so good! I finally chose the chicken with saffron risotto and Chris ordered the pork chop. Although they werenât huge portions, we thought the food was so incredibly delicious and beautifully presented and we did have some to bring home. I also had to try the homemade sorbet at the end of the meal. Even though I was stuffed, it was so light and delicious that it ended up being a great end to our meal.
I would definitely recommend The Fair to anyone needing a place for a date night or to catch up...
