Loved the alley atmosphere of the old location. Small. Quaint. Great vibes. Awesome view. As a customer of three years to Quills, then True North, I was so excited to visit their combined new location. The new place has great decor, but upbeat coffee house vibes was not the ambience. Upon arrival two baristas were making drinks with not one customer in the place...no one greeted me. Ok. Not necessary. I thought they did not see me until both turned around and looked straight at me and turned around continuing tasks. With purchase in hand (Olivet vinegar) and standing at check-out kiosk, I waited about 5 minutes, finally, a barista turned around and stated, "I will be with you shortly." While two baristas continued to talk to each other, waiting on shots to brew, the True North Artisan Shop cashier walked in and immediately she was greeted with, "Oh, hi! Welcome back!" As I debated on a coffee spritzer and asked about the ingredients, I was immediately told, "It is on the menu." while pointing at a paper menu. Really? A self service check out would have been more warm and friendly. Maybe a few warm and fuzzy lessons needed here- or how to fake a bad day x 2! I felt like I was a bother to two not so busy employees. Not sure who the coffee drinks were for, but I left feeling like I interrupted their afternoon. Really disappointed! I hope this was just a bad day for these employees?! Consistent personality and upbeat vibes are a must...

I would like to formally apologize to every iced caramel latte I’ve ever had before this one… because True North Coffee just changed the game. ☕️🔥
Like, I took one sip and suddenly felt main character energy radiating through my body. ✨ The espresso? Bold, smooth, and ready to wake me up from my lifelong state of exhaustion. The caramel? Sweet, but not "I just drank a sugar factory" sweet. The whole drink? An actual masterpiece.
Also, can we talk about the vibes in this place?! Cozy, cute, and the kind of coffee shop where you could accidentally spend three hours "working" but actually just people-watching and feeling mysterious. 😎
Anyway, if you haven’t been to True North Coffee, what are you even doing?? Cancel your plans, grab your emotional support hoodie, and go get yourself the best iced caramel latte of your life. Your taste buds...
Read moreWe moved here last year and really loved this place up until about 6 months ago. The past three times we've been here the cold brew and iced coffee drinks have been sour, bitter, and honestly undrinkable. We are huge coffee lovers so I'd like to think we're not just crazy. We even ordered the same thing and they both turned out badly and yet didn't taste the same? Mine was ultra sour and his was super bitter. Not sure what's going on or what changed but we can't keep spending $12 on coffee to dump it out. The girls working aren't rude but the environment doesn't feel friendly enough to complain in...
