Vic's Cafe — Restaurant in New Albany

I went there today for the first time. Just because I needed some place that served a cheeseburger at breakfast time (I don't care for most breakfast items). So I googled "food near me now" (open), while in New Albany @730 in the morning! And Thank God, I did. At fifty-three years old, that is hands down the best double cheeseburger I've had in my life... Now, they don't accept cards there (cash only), at least for the food, but they do have an atm.... So I did get "stuck" with a three dollar fee to get twenty dollars out of the a.T m... With the twelve dollars for the burger and fries plus the three dollar fee; I figure that took me to fifteen dollars.... I would pay that fee again, and I would spend fifteen dollars for that burger any day of the week.... We will definitely be going back there because there are more pictures of food that I need to try.... And speaking on nice people and customer service.... They're the best... Just a good old spot to get you some down home, GOOD food, with some really good people and a drink 😋, if that's what you fancy. You will not regret giving them a try. We were traveling & used the Google map for good food. Found this place.

There were two entrances. One was closed, so we went in from the other. The first thing we saw was a bar. Then, we saw a food counter in the very back. The girl working hard for the pickup orders told us to take seats and take our order. We walked into another section of the building. A wall was dividing the bar from the food (the closed front door directly leads to this section) Once she was done with what she was doing, she brought us water and the menu.

I wanted biscuits & gravy, but I was told they serve that only on breakfast time. We ordered the pork steak sandwich and the Vic's burger. The pork steak sandwich was fantastic! The Vic's burger was very very good but can't say fantastic.

My wife and I had a burger, you can't mess up a burger too bad. It was good. Our waitress on the other hand had a lot to be desired. She literally threw the straws for our drinks at us. Other than that, it was a cozy little place. Everyone seemed to know everyone. It is a bit small for a restaurant, the booths are kind of crammed together with a row of tables in the center of the floor. So walking space is limited. People kept rubbing into my friend's shoulder when they would pass. It is a bar, so drinks are served. Overall, it is a decent place for lunch, but you will probably not want to stay very long if...
