DoubleDave's Pizzaworks — Restaurant in New Braunfels

Double daves has always been a favorite of mine, so when i found out they were opening one in New Braunfels I was so exited! So we went there the first Wednesday after they opened 4-3-2019 for the buffet. I was a little nervous a out how the quality was gonna be since it was so new but let me tell you I was extremely impressed! Only thing I can say is I wish it was bigger place!! The place was jammed packed with every table taken people dining in eating the buffet as well as people lined you to take pies to go! They did an absolutely fantastic amazing job! They cranked out pizzas left an right! Good quality ones at that! I saw the buffet almost empty when we first arrived and we're paying for our meal but it didn't take but just a couple of minutes and Bam it was loaded up again befor we even sat down! This was at the same time as cranking out to go orders keeping people moving! I was impressed. Management and maybe owners of the place not sure just seemed like upper level people were constantly going around making sure people were okay and orders were being taken care up for carry out people and dine in. I'm telling you for as jammed packed as it was and chaotic seemed at first glance everything went perfect and the pies we're a amazing! Get in there quick before end of May I believe and try the dessert birthday cake pizza for celebrating the company's anniversary you...

What could have easily been a 1-2 star experience, was saved by the manager (I forgot his name even though I asked 🤦🏼‍♀️)

My bf and I ordered 2 pizzas and it took longer than it should have.. almost 30 minutes I think. Without us complaining or asking where our food was, he made it right. I’m a manager myself and I know things happen, and he definitely made his efforts to keep us happy and to gain us as customers for future.

Only thing I would suggest to management.. the lady who took our order at the counter could not hear us. We had to repeat ourselves at least 4-5 times. I usually am the quiet talker and am use to not being heard but my bf was speaking.. and he’s loud. We asked a few questions and she just blanked faced us and nodded. The other thing is she walked by us 3-4 times within our waiting period and never said a word about us not having our food. She just continued doing her closing duties and sat down. If she would have spoken to someone about the food or kept an eye on it.. it wouldn’t have been such a long wait.

I’m not complaining, it happens. I just had taken my medicine right before we ordered intending to have food in my belly soon, but the delay started to make me nauseous by the time food did come.

Went here to celebrate my birthday today with my family. I wish I could give out stars differently than what is suggested I was above because I would give the man that was running the place five star plus. They were very short staffed, and he was working very hard to accommodate all the customers that were coming in the door. The food was amazing, The hamburger pizza tasted just like a big Mac maybe even better. Unfortunately, we had an issue with one When I presented it to the young man that was working, he was rude, condescending and dismissive. However, he turned the situation over to the gentleman that seemed to be the manager who apologized immediately and went right to work to fixing our problem. He also offered me options of how I would like the situation fixed. On the hard side, the food was very slow to come out however they were so short staffed so it was understandable and trust me. It was so delicious. It was worth the wait. We definitely will go Back and give them another try to improve on their service.
