New trendy location at the rear of the Creekside area in New Braunfels, close to the restaurant Freiheit and the Homewood Suites recently built. Had a great experience while visiting. The food was quite delicious, surprising for food at a sports bar; ordered chicken and waffles, tasted pretty good. My friend ordered the fish and chips, would recommend again. Highly suggest the fried jalapeños if you want a snack with a bite, every one I ate had a great kick to it.
Happy hour is a great time to visit, and there are different specials daily. Outdoor seating is available, along with an area inside with pool tables inside to enjoy and unwind. Don't have any complaints about the visit, the staff was really friendly and made sure to check on us frequently while we were outside. Would have to visit again to see what the evenings are like, or on a Friday/Saturday night.
Highly recommend at least one visit to see what you might think; they do a great job to try be cater to everyone and are accommodating for service dogs without any issues. The bartender even brought out water for mine without a request, and stayed to chat for a while to make sure everything was well received. Planning another visit soon with a larger group of friends to enjoy the atmosphere and...
Read moreWe came to Double Schotts Sports Bar & Grill immediately after church, excited to try a new place that wasn’t terribly busy. The online menu caught our attention, especially the photo of their nachos – they looked amazing and fit perfectly within our diet.
When we arrived, we were greeted promptly and given menus. We already knew exactly what we wanted. All we needed was someone to take our order. That never happened.
We sat and waited… and waited. Meanwhile, we noticed two waitresses and a bartender gathered at the bar, eyes locked on their phones, clearly ignoring the few tables in the restaurant. No customers at the bar. No rush. Just complete disinterest.
After a long, awkward wait, we finally gave up and left. We aren’t normally impatient people, but this wasn’t about timing – it was about the blatant and intentional lack of professionalism.
It’s one thing to be short-staffed or busy. This was neither. This was a team choosing not to work. Unless I can be assured that this unprofessional culture is addressed, I don’t see myself giving Double Schotts a...
Read moreLet me start by saying I have never posted a google review before. I had high hopes for this place as I love sports bars. There were at least 9 wait staff working and you would think there was only one. Unless of course you were one of the male patrons who received all of the female wait staff's attention. We had to call over our waitress every time we wanted to place a food or drink order, the same went for the three tables around us. The main bartender never wore a mask and 90% of the time the rest of the staff wore masks incorrectly. Politics aside, if you can't follow a health mandate then I shudder to think about how general food service guidelines are adhered to. Entrees were burnt and flavorless. Tomato slice on entree served with full stem on. Pretzel sticks were a small redemption. Please address...
