I reached out to Kimmie on a super short notice and was very pleased when she was able to take my order and got back to me in a timely manner. I needed 1 dozen BLACK macarons that I was using for a cake. I bake and decorate cakes professionally but didn’t have time to make macs so I wanted to support someone local.
When I went to pick up the macs, the moment I received them from her hand, I noticed they looked green but I didn’t want to say anything because I thought maybe it was just me and I wanted to hold them against my black buttercream to compare. I asked multiple people what color they were and everyone thought they were supposed to be green. I was super sad because I wasn’t able to use them because they are gorgeous macs but figured if I reach out it would get handled.
When I reached out to Kimmie, she wasn’t apologetic at all and acted as if it was just an unfortunate event and not her problem. Her “solution” was for me to drive them back to her, another 30 minutes in the car and wasting gas so that she could airbrush them. She never mentioned a partial refund or anything. We finally did agree upon a solution, which was that she would make a new batch, air brush them and then deliver them to me the next day. Unfortunately, I got a text the next morning from her husband saying I needed to give the old ones back in order to get the new batch. When our solution was made, returning the product was never discussed the day before, so by this point I had already given most of the macs away since I couldn’t use them for the cake. As a local bakery myself, the only reason you would EVER ask for an order back is if the complaint was related to quality assurance and you needed to confirm that they were in fact not eaten and the customer was telling the truth. In my case, I sent her a picture showing the issue and it was very evident what the problem was. I read their whole policy and it was never a part of her policy that items needed to be returned. The only reason they wanted them back was to be petty. They knew what the problem was and were probably gonna just throw them away.
This company doesn’t know good customer service and as a home bakery you have to operate under certain state laws in which they are also lacking, in failing to label their products properly.
If you ever have a problem with this business, don’t expect to get much in return because they are petty and don’t understand how to take responsibility. For whatever reason google isn’t allowing me to add pictures of our conversation but they are in my Facebook review if anyone is skeptical.
If she would have responded to my very first text with my picture in it l, with an apology and a proper solution, I would have been happy and pleased. I’m out almost $40 and no macarons. This became a customer service issue very fast and I would recommend giving your business to another...
Read moreEmerald Whisk did such an amazing job with my wedding cakes! I had both a bride and a groom cake made, and they turned out absolutely beautiful. My bride cake had a travel theme, and it was everything I dreamed of, stunning to look at and delicious to eat. The flavor was salted caramel with buttercream and fondant in the middle for the map design. I received so many compliments on it! My cousin said it was the best wedding cake he’d had all year, and my husband’s aunt told us it was the best she’s ever had.
The groom’s cake was a Darth Vader design with cookies and cream flavor, it looked incredible and my husband absolutely loved it! It was such a cool, fun addition to our wedding, and everyone thought it was amazing. My mother-in-law loved both cakes so much she even took some home.
The owner, Kimmie, is wonderful to work with. You can tell she truly loves what she does and puts her heart into every detail. I highly recommend Emerald Whisk for any special occasion (or even just because!). You really can’t go wrong with...
Read moreI needed a cake for a birthday party that everyone was traveling to. Kimberly was very helpful and communicating with her about design ideas and to order it was fast and friendly. I had opted to add the fiishing touches to the cake since once i picked it up from her, I still had to drive with it for 30 minutes. I ordered the cake and two dozen chocolate chip cookies.
Everything was packaged perfectly and survived the road trip. Everyone loved the cookies and the cake was perfect for the birthday guy. The cake, frosting, and fondant tasted amazing! Even people who normally do not like choclate commented on how delicious it was.
The cake and cookies put the final fantastic touches to a great...
