After being greeted by the person at the register...I asked If they had a sandwich combo...they said yes...a drink is included...i asked for extra lean brisket...they ended up charging me for the one meat with 2 sides...charged me for a drink and I bought an extra drink since the food was for my son. We went to go fill up our drinks and there was no sweet tea...i notified the counter...and then right after the ice ran out...my number was called and I knew something was wrong with the order...its was just brisket slices and beans and bread...i took it back and told them what I asked for and that I was charged 3 dollars more for the 1 meat plate and in addition...had to buy an extra drink...the man was attempting to fix the transaction...the beans looked...sad...not like the beans I was accustomed to at nearby bbq places. While they transfered the meat that was already room temp to a sandwich bun I told the man that if he just made it a double meat sandwich, no refund was necessary. They added meat to the sandwich and replaced the beans with fries that were cold. When my son opened the sandwich, the bun was soaked and falling apart because of the bbq sauce it had been sitting in while we waited for the extra meat to be added. The kitchen staff female that was handling the remake was making faces and comments as I waited and even made the comment that she wanted to quit. Upon inspection, my son said "I can't eat this it is tough and has a rubbery consistency" I told him to eat the fries and he told me they were cold. I didn't want to approach the counter again out of embarrassment and I didn't want an even worse reaction than the first time. We left the sandwich on the table with all the meat uneaten and both orders of fries. I don't normally leave reviews but I felt this time it...
Read moreFriends and coworkers have recommended Granzin Bar-B-Q a few times. Sorry to say I haven't tried it yet until yesterday. I love B-B-Q and so does my family. We do travel and when we do it always has to include a BBQ joint. So being so close to this place I have no excuse why we haven't tried it yet. Now I know. We ordered a 4 person family pack that includes 2 meats. We choose brisket and pulled pork. 3 sides- potato salad, green beans and cheesy Mac and cheese. It came with white bread, pickles and onions.. We Added a sausage link, medium menudo and peach cobbler. About $60.00. Decent price, not great. Let's start with what I liked. (Crickets chirping) The green beans were fantastic. And that is it. The cheesy Mac and cheese was not. And lacks flavor. Ok though. We have had worse at restaurants. The potato salad was average. The brisket was sliced so thin, why? Because it was the toughest brisket I have ever had. Even sliced like lunch meat it was still tough and lacks flavor. The pulled pork was too sweet. Full of sauce and a very large piece of cartilage that isn't edible. The menudo was a medium in size and only filled to about an inch below the top of the cup. Also very salty. My wife had to doctor it up to eat it. It is a smaller size than other locations. Which brings me to the sausage. Never again. They would be much better off buying some at the store and smoking it instead of making this stuff. Like I said we love our BBQ and look forward to the variety that is available out there. But people, why? Mr. Granzin, you should quality check your food. Maybe your employees? Courtesy? To their credit, they moved the line in the drive thu pretty quickly. That was good. So when in New Braunfels, there are several other BBQ restaurants to...
Read moreMy wife and I came here a few months ago and everything was great . The atmosphere and the food were really good. We drove an hour to bring our son, who happened to be home for Christmas break, so he could also taste some great food. Needless to say it started with my pulled pork sandwich which was very salty. I didn't want to take it back but my son took it for me and was replaced with a brisket sandwich which was ok . Nothing to brag about. My poor son had a pulled pork plate and couldn't even eat it because it was also salty and stated the Mac n cheese didn't even taste like Mac n cheese ,he said the only good thing on his plate were the green beans. My wife had ordered a peach cobbler which she had to go back to go get because they forgot to give it to us on our tray. When she got back to the table and opened the peach cobbler it looked like it had been sat out for a few days ,dry and not edible. Our first experience was 10 and today our son said this was a 2 rating from 1-10 . Very disappointed our 2nd experience was not the same as the 1st time. Sometimes we need to continue taking pride in what we put out. Also the floors were mopped with a greasy mop going by the soda station into the bathroom. It was unsafe to walk, so you had to walk with caution. Will we ever come back,...
