Gruene Tini's — Restaurant in New Braunfels

There was an uninviting antiseptic smell at first notice. That’s fine, we wanted martinis. The lighting was such cheap fluorescence that I could see all my friends years from across the table. We didn’t care, we were there to have fun. The drinks were elementary. Mediocre grenadine-and-chocolate-syrup concoctions. Oh well, we wanted drinks dang it! We drank a few rounds, each time walking up to the bar to order, and the table piling up with glasses. It wasn’t busy. Quite the opposite, actually, for a Friday night. Finally, my party was leaving so I went to the bar to close my tab, and the two bar tenders behind the bar with no one else to serve seemed perturbed. She asked us to bring our glasses up, but my friends had all dispersed quickly. I started to turn to help clean, but then remembered how bars are supposed to work and joked “it’s either a tip, or I work for you.” To which the other bartender started to refuse to close my tab stating that it’s okay they would “leave a tip for me.” I protested that I needed to be the one to sign my tab, and the woman stomped off, annoyed at having to bus a table. Heaven forbid a bar tender clears glasses off of a table. Not one of us will ever go back. What happened to...

Wish I could say I had the same experience as the first time. Was introduced to this place by a coworker a year ago and went after work (she ordered our drinks) and had a good time, good drinks. This time, not so much. Brought some friends and walked in excited only to not be greeted by ANYONE. The place was not even busy. One bartender was eating in front of me while I was standing at the bar waiting to have my order taken. Just as we were about to leave the other bartender made eye contact with me in the reflective mirror where the register is (after doing so multiple times and ignoring me) and decided he was now ready to very reluctantly ask me what I wanted to order. No suggestions, no “have you been here before?”.

It was very obvious that if you don’t fit a certain “criteria” (white), you won’t get good service. Sad to see that these days this is still the case. And the drink was strong and not good. We left without even finishing our drinks and wasting money. NEVER coming back and everyone I know will hear about this. How unwelcoming, uncomfortable, and blatantly...

This bar was incredible. We went on a Sunday, where they did not have any deals that day, and the prices were still incredible for these beautiful drinks. The other days they have deals, the drinks are such amazing prices, but without, it will NOT break the bank. The restaurant itself was so stunning, with such cute photo ops, and just a welcoming atmosphere. The absolute best part of the night was the two bartenders that were present. I am sad to say I do not remember their names but they made our night, a night to remember. They made sure everything was BEYOND expectations, were able to talk to us about anything, & suggested the absolute best. I WILL be going back AND I will be suggesting this place to everyone. Better than any bar...
