P.Terry's burgers were extremely disappointing since for the price i paid for a double meat on wheat were first and foremost too small for the price. The meat pattie alone was only a 1/8 of an inch thick and the circumference of the patty and buns were small too. As a matter a fact one bun alone was 2 times thicker then then 2 meat patties. Seems i bought more bread and pickles then meat. Secondly, i was extremely disappointed to find out that you people DO NOT GIVE DISABLED VETERANS DISCOUNTS but are willing to conduct business under the very i defended twice and put my life on the line as well. P. Terry's should honor all veterans and allow veterans a discount. But due to the poor quality of food you's put out i assure you i will reach out to all VETERANS ORGANIZATIONS to BOYCOTT YOUR BUSINESS for the minitature burgers you's sell for the outrages prices to include for not giving and HONORING ALL VETERANS because veterans always carry proof of being veterans especially DISABLED VETERANS. But until your company CHANGES your practices and until the discrimination against VETERANS STOPS I will never eat at your establishment ever again. And since i am here giving you my observations i highly recommend you make your burgers patties and burger buns bigger too. But for now i shall not return until your company publicly announces that they will honor all veterans by giving them a discount and until you increase the size of your burgers to match the prices you have on your menu's. But until you make that change i shall start notify all VERY ORGANIZATIONS to BOYCOTT YOUR BUSINESS until you change your attitude towards VETERANS that stepped up to defend our flag so you could conduct business under our protection. I am deeply offended by your...
Read moreAfter moving to the Austin area I heard so much about P. Terry's, an Austin foodie delight. So. So I was really stoked to try them out today.
I got a cheeseburger with bacon grilled onions fries well done and a vanilla shake. Pretty straightforward stuff. I heard a lot of comparisons between the kind of colt favorite following that P. Terry's s has locally similar to In-and-Out. Curious just how similar the burgers were.
On the menu boards driving up your greeted 1st by the fact that you've all natural ingredients and it definitely showed in the produce. Lettuce was plentiful and crisp. Tomatoes sliced relatively thin and also had nice firm texture. Beef... honestly the Patty was very thin and I couldn't necessarily taste the difference in the freshness. Next time I will get a double. And then of course their super secret sauce which has mayonnaise in it like so many super secret sauces, so I was happy that it was lightly applied as I am not a big Mayo fan. The bacon was wonderfully crisp and thick cut. Praise the Lord! Can't get that at In-n-Out!
All in all a very similar Burger to in-and-out.. Fresh, simple, and good.
I wanted to love the French fries as soon as I saw them because they look like they are fresh cut. I love when the potato skin is still visible on the French fries. It lends a texture especially when the French fries are crispy. But unfortunately my French fries did not arrive crispy. Part of the reason I ask for them crispy is to ensure that they come out piping hot because there's nothing worse than Luke warm fries. Well they were better than the lukewarm but definitely not crispy nor piping hot. But I will give them a try again and maybe next time will change my mind...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of P Terry's, being a former Austinite. Having moved to Houston, then back to SA, I missed this place! I read some reviews comparing them to In N Out and McDonald's...NO COMPARISON THERE, as you can see the difference by reading their story: "KATHY AND PATRICK TERRY OPENED THE FIRST P. TERRY'S on July 5th, 2005 at the corner of South Lamar and Barton Springs in Austin. Patrick was following his childhood dream to open a classic burger stand, like the legendary Mack Eplen's he grew up with in Abilene, Texas. But when Kathy read the book "Fast Food Nation", their plan to provide quality food and service went to a higher level.
P. Terry's offers the freshest quality ingredients you can find served out of a drive-thru window. We're where fresh, all-natural, beef and chicken became staple items. We serve fresh-cut fries made from all-natural potatoes, free of trans fats and hydrogenated oils. Add to that our fresh-baked cookies, banana bread, and house veggie burger; our fresh-squeezed orange juice and lemonade; and our authentic milkshakes - we care about what's out there to eat, and we make our food with that in mind.
But we didn't forget Patrick's original image - the classic burger joint of the '50s and '60s, when small-town hospitality was the standard. That's why we offer a simple menu with an open kitchen, featuring premium quality ingredients, all served at affordable prices. It's why we treat every customer with utmost respect; take every chance to give back to our community; and ensure our employees' well-being - through opportunities to grow with our business, access to unique benefits, and pay above...
