Smokey Moās BBQ provides a unique oak-smoked flavor that sets it apart from many other BBQ joints. If you appreciate a heavy, smoky taste, this place might be a good fit for you. The BBQ is seasoned well, and the hot BBQ sauce available inside adds an interesting twist to the meal.
Despite these positives, our visit left us with mixed feelings. The food, while flavorful, didn't quite reach the level of exceptional that would make us eager to return. We found the portions of brisket, chicken, and sausage to be on the smaller side, especially considering the premium price point. The restaurant was also quite empty during our visit, which was surprising given the cost and the level of service.
Pros:
Distinct Oak-Smoked Flavor: If you love a robust smoky taste, this is a standout feature. Good Seasoning: The food is well-seasoned, enhancing the overall taste. Unique Hot BBQ Sauce: The hot sauce available inside adds a flavorful kick.
Cons:
Small Portions for the Price: The servings of brisket, chicken, and sausage were smaller than anticipated. Heavy Oak Smoke: The intense oak smoke flavor might be overwhelming for some. Empty Atmosphere: The restaurant was notably empty, which may raise questions about its popularity or experience.
Overall, while Smokey Moās BBQ offers a distinctive smoky flavor and good seasoning, the portion sizes and price might not justify a repeat visit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been eating at Smoky Mo's since 2010, and I've always tried looking for the next best BBQ place, and honestly, I haven't found it. I've tried lots of BBQ places that came out on TV, even the one in Austin, and none of them compare to Smoky Mo's. The brisket is my go-to, and it's always moist and full of flavor. Their sides are always on point, and recently I tried their pork belly burnt ends, and they were INSANE!!! Their baked potato, get it with extra mayo and with brisket...it's amazing. But what really makes Smoky Mo's special, it their consistency. Honestly, out of all the different kinds of restaurants I've been to, BBQ, sushi, Italian, etc, Smoky Mo's has an incredible consistency, their food is almost always the same, which makes it the obvious choice for BBQ. Yes, I've had slightly better brisket before at some overhyped places, but when I came back for more, the food sucked. Bottom line, if you want great BBQ, and you want it great every time, Smoky Mo's is a no...

I approached him as he handed me our food and asked just to make sure what they was talking about and let him know its not really appropriate talk.. we won't be back here again that kind of stuff is disgusting and that your employee feels safe enough to have that conversation out loud is wild.
To the "owner that replied" yeah talking to my white wife that isn't really affected by any of the comments that where said seems more like a safe copout to me. I dont know but that's just me I guess, yall never tried reaching out to me personally (the individual) that it actually happened in front of. But hey sweep it under the rug as fast as possible...
