So Ramen is so close to home I just had to Pick the perfect day to go and dine in. Setting inside is very simple but clean . Had about 8 tables and all of them Seat 4 people. When we arrived I thought I'd put my order in and then stay to sit and eat but we got seated, greeted and our orders were taken. So it was nice. No one was dining in but many people were picking up to go Orders. It took about 10-15 minutes for our dishes to Come out. So Super Bowl Sunday, , called for Ramen. My dad had the Gomoku Ramen which was more colorful and had porkbelly, veggies, seaweed, egg, fish cakes , corn and bamboo shoots. My dad enjoyed his bowl of ramen and had very good flavor. For myself I chose the oxtail Ramen. Had about 3 pieces of oxtail and to Make it GF, rice noodles were used and a different kind of sauce since they do not have GF soy sauce. I was surprised at how good it tasted. Came out nice and hot and a good size bowl. I just wish it had something else in there besides oxtail, mushrooms, onions and scallions. The egg! I always look forward to the egg in Ramen! Plus adds a bit of color! So-Ramen is good to have nearby, i would go again and try something different. There menu has quite a few things such as apps, basic ramen, spicy ramen and Specialty Ramen. They also have mini combos and Plates that are not ramen. I'm glad I finally got to check It...
Read moreIt seems that every time I go near Central Connecticut State College, another little restaurant pops up. So.Ramen is one of those where if you don't pull into the parking lot you might not know it's there. I'm so glad I did pull in because I discovered a wonderful little enclave of Asian noodle soups, with plenty of appetizing side dishes and healthy foods. When I walked in it was quiet and uncrowded. After deciding on the Gyoza appetizer, I next ordered The Guidon Beef for the main noodle course. The Gyoza was pan fried to perfection, and the sweet soy sauce was an excellent accompaniment. The noodle dish had thin slabs of beef with a rich broth , steamed vegetables and noodles. It was absolutely delicious. Next time I visit, and each time thereafter I am going to attempt to order a new dish because all of it is so good. One should not hesitate to seek out this little Asian yummy spot, right on the edge of the campus. You will be very pleasantly greeted with a wonderful staff and the best noodle...
Read moreA bit disappointing. I find that too many ramen places treat their vegetarian broth as an afterthought, and this place is no different. The broth was bland. I don’t personally love broccoli in ramen—the flavor doesn’t mesh well, and if the florets are too big (as they were here) then it becomes awkward to eat. I also don’t understand the choice to use thin, near angel-hair style pasta instead of traditional ramen noodles either. Felt like a bait and switch. Otherwise, the atmosphere was unimpressive, with a plethora of Naruto art shoved on the walls, so if you like Naruto, then you might like it, if not…. Service was a bit slow—they only had one person working as hostess and waiter, and they did not seem thrilled to be there. Overall, it was...
