We ordered wings from here yesterday (4/14/2020). The food tasted just fine. The staff was polite. The issue is, it is mid April, 2020 and my son went to Wings over Newington to pick it up some wings (borrowed my truck) as I was home fixing his car for him. He gets back and we are enjoying the food when I asked him; What sort of precautions were taken when you went to get the wings? He says; like what? I then say; you know, like masks. Was the person who waited on you wearing a mask of some sort? His reply; No To which I follow up with; Well you were wearing a mask at least, right? He says no, he doesn't have one... At this point I tell him I have masks for everyone in our house. How he doesn't know this or isn't with it enough to ask about masks is beyond me. Chalk it up to being 20 something and clueless I suppose. He feels terrible about this, as he should. How Wings Over has an employee or employees having face to face contact with their so-called valued customers is inconceivable to me. Are you people not aware of the global pandemic? I have been out of work and self quarantined for two weeks now. A lot of good that does when others aren't observing the most common sense precautions that the CDC has recommended. Is it a law? No. Should a restaurant that is dealing with the public and putting their workers in face to face contact with be safety conscious and have the counter person equipped with PPE? I think so, and do to the fact that they have put me in harms way, I have deducted 3 stars. I was going to only deduct 2, but once I completed this review, I realized I'm still upset by this and 2 wasn't nearly enough. Giving two stars may even be generous at this point. This is unbelievable to me that whoever is running this place is this irresponsible. In my opinion, if you can not provide your employees with the proper PPE, you should not be open for business. It is also my belief that Wings Over Newington has shown more concern for corporate profits over safety. I'm not happy. My son was trying to show his appreciation for the work I did for him and it ended up blowing up in his face. Once I pointed out what he did, he lost his appetite. What was supposed to be a mutually nice thing, ended up causing turmoil in my family/household. What were/are you thinking? This makes me wonder what else is not being done there to ensure public safety. Are the employees washing their hands with soap and water? For how long? You people might want to do some research on Covid 19 , especially in regards to how it is spread and whom is most vulnerable to it. Here is my final thought for you to take away... Production first,...
Read moreOur first time in this area, my boyfriend loves his chicken wings. We called in our order before arriving. My boyfriend told the lady about 4 times he wanted his wings well done "crispy" she kept cutting him off! She even gave him a break down on how they would make them just to be sure he gets them crispy! We thought it would be good. We arrived at 10:47pm to pick up the food. Waited about 5mins and we were on our way. We called store phone at 11:02pm no answer. I'm assuming it's because they closed at 11pm. Even still we called again at 11:12pm a guy named mike answered. We told him we weren't happy with the wings, the chicken was soggy! No where near crispy... the mike guys exact words were "umm well I wish you guys called or came back before we closed" what type of response is that? I told him we literally just left and we aren't happy with our food if he wants we will gladly bring everything back in the morning because we aren't going to eat it. He really had the nerve to say "yea well that would be pointless of course they will be soggy in the morning" he said " I can give you guys a credit of a few dollars so you can get something else" I asked what his name was he told me mike. I asked for the name of the manager and he said "I am the manager" just horrible, horrible horrible service! Not once did he apologize he was very rude and made it seem as though we were lying about the food being soggy! We just threw everything in the trash! This was our first visit and we will...
Read moreThe experience I had tonight in this place is absolutely unacceptable! We order here 2-3 times a month. We overlook inconsistencies because they seem to have a high turnover amd typically it's good. But tonight after placing our order online, I called and simply asked if they could wait to sauce my tenders until I got to the store so they would stay crispy. Was told too busy can't promise that. Ok no problem please leave them down and extra minute. Ok. I get there tell the kid behind the counter what order I'm picking up and he says he didn't put the order in because he didn't have a phone number. I ask him what he's talking about that the order was placed online and he proceeds to argue with me and tell me I don't have to be a Douce bag about it. I said EXCUSE ME? So he goes back to cry to the guy making the wings who cokes out and gives me attitude about being 3 minutes early that he's backed up. I attempted to explain I had no issue with that that I wasn't rushing anything in fact had asked they take their tike that the kid went off on me because he made a mistake and he continued to give me attitude. Sorry but I get being backed up. I had 3xs the normal work load at my job today. But it's COMPLETELY unacceptable to speak to anyone let alone a customer that way. I told them to cancel my order and it will be my last visit there the place has gone completely down hill since they moved...
