King of Gyro — Restaurant in New Brunswick

UPDATE 8/2018: we contacted the store again. We were given a number. The person apologized and said someone would be over to give us our money. To date no one has shown up. Now my boyfriend wrote a review and the manager responds they have no idea what he is talking abThat’s okay, we reopened the dispute with our bank as the company told the bank they would pay it back and haven’t. Making promises and not delivering on it... no worries not only have we filed a complaint but will also proceed legally if necessary. It’s companies like this that defraud customers, make excuses for their poor service, make false promises, then pretend like they have no clue what anyone is talking about that can respond to a google review to save face that don’t deserve to be open!

We ordered their food through Uber Eats the first time and everything was good. So tonight we decided to order directly through their website. After about 35 minutes the food arrived. We paid a delivery fee and tipped the driver. We opened the bag of food only to find part of our order wasn't there. To add to it the food was not fresh and was cold. So we called the restaurant. Instead of fixing the issues they told us we had to drive to the restaurant to pick up our missing order...we explained there is a reason we did delivery and not pick up. We asked for a refund, they said they couldn't give us a refund because it was processed through a 3rd party they use. Everything they said was an excuse as to why they wouldn't make things right. We were promised a call back from a manager, hours later nothing. Needless to say we will dispute the entire charge with our bank, the food was not what we ordered and half was missing. Horrible service, cold food and a waste of time. I couldn't believe that this is how they treat their customers. There is a place in bound brook that has the same food, eat there instead. Save your money and...

Delicious food for a good price. I got the chicken platter on my first go and lamb platter my second trip there. The portion size is decent. The container is filled with veggies, meat over rice, and two small pieces of pita bread. I would not mind another piece of bread. The sauces out on the table are delicious; they really enhanced the flavour of the lamb.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is clean and not crowded. It's filled with extra large picnic-style tables, which promotes table-sharing. The aisles between tables are a bit cramped. Environment overall is comfortable. For dine-in, there's no clear spot for tray returns so we just put it on the counter. Staff have a "we'll take care of you" attitude and make sure you get the best experience out of your food.

Dog-friendly! I brought my service dog in training and it sounds like they allow other dogs as well. Did not check for gender neutral restrooms yet. Edit: I don't think they have this policy anymore. Regular pet policy: ask the manager before attempting

The food here is undeniably good. However, because of the terrible customer service, I will not be returning. I had ordered delivery from King of Gyro previously and had not received the white sauce. This was disappointing because the white sauce really makes the meal. I figured that this was just a slip-up, and ordered again from King of Gyro. This time, I was not given the white sauce or fries I ordered. Because half of the items were missing, I contacted the restaurant. The person who picked up was extremely rude, did not offer any apologies, and simply directed me to talk to the delivery service. While I was in the middle of asking a question about the refund process, he said "yep" and hung up on me. I saw a similar review as of two days ago, where another customer did not receive white sauce multiple times and was met with rude service. This seems to be a common occurrence.
