Dinner cost $30, was burned and inedible, soggy, and had a strange aftertaste. Out of $30 spent, they would only offer us a $10 coupon, meaning we were out $20 and dinner. So we had to make last second alternative arrangements and were ultimately disappointed by the whole affair. Here is our chat with one of your/their agents.
Blue: We ordered our food from A1 Oriental (428 Whalley Avenue, New Haven CT 06511) and were rather disappointed with it. The egg foo yung was burned, the fries were soggy, and the gizzards had a strange aftertaste.

IvanTP: Hello! Thank you for contacting Grubhub about your Yelp order. My name is Ivan.
Blue: Hello, Ivan.
IvanTP: We're sorry for the inconvenience, Blue. I'll sort this out for you.
Blue: Thank you.
IvanTP: Let me go ahead and check what I can do for you.
Blue: Okay, thank you.
IvanTP: Thank you for your patience, I do apologize for the wait. I'm still working on this for you.
Blue: Okay.
IvanTP: I spoke with the restaurant and for the inconvenience, we can grant you a $10.00 promo code as an apology.
Blue:Okay, so if we accept the $10 that means we have to go hungry? What do we do about the food that is burnt and soggy and we can't eat it?
IvanTP: Unfortunately, we can only grant you the $10 for the inconvenience.
Blue: The food cost $30. And we can't eat it. And we don't want to order from that restaurant. The food is inedible, we have no dinner.
IvanTP: We apologize for the inconvenience, unfortunately, that's the most that we can do at the moment.
Blue: So not only do we have to go hungry, we've also lost $20 bucks. So where's the incentive to come back?
IvanTP: I completely understand your point and how frustrating this might be. Unfortunately, that's the most that we can do for now.
Blue: We've been robbed. We paid for something and we didn't get what we expected. Thank you for nothing and good night. We will also be reviewing this exchange as well.
Goodbye A1 and goodbye Yelp. Unfortunately we do not have money...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have ordered from this restaurant twice and both times were terrible. The food was decent, nothing to write home about but that's not my problem. The delivery driver was the RUDEST person I have ever met in my life. He got upset with me because he couldn't find my house and then when he came to the door he was using all kinds of profanity because he felt as if I should have gave better directions as to where my house was. I gave my address and left my porch light on so the driver could see the house number. After the driver was so disrespectful he then walked off with my food and got back into his car. I had already paid for my order via phone so that is the only reason I made the driver come back to my door. I called the restaurant after the whole ordeal had taken place and all they told me was I should have made my house more visible for the driver. Really?! Needless to say I will never order from them again. After looking at several other reviews on this place it isn't very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI called in an order and asked to make a substitution on a lunch order and was willing to pay the extra money for lo mein instead of fried rice, because I do not eat rice, and I was called back and told immediately that they were not willing to make a substitution, even though I offered to pay as much as possible for that substitution. The guy on the phone was extremely rude and basically just hung up on me without saying goodbye or anything even though I havenāt even received the order yet weāre already off to a bad start and now I understand why the reviews are not that great. And it baffles me how nowadays somebody is not willing to make substitutions for dietary restrictions even though the customer is willing to pay whatever the price is necessary for the substitution, I literally offered whatever amount...
