Imperial Wok — Restaurant in New Haven

Consistently The best Chinese food my family has ever had in New Haven County. We have eaten Imperial Wok food for probably 20 years. The family that owns this small business is one of the nicest, friendliest, gracious & hard-working we've ever encountered. We have had many, many dishes from here, and never experienced a bad one - always made w/ fresh, high quality ingredients and very flavorful sauces. The General Tso is delicious & the best we've ever had - big tender pieces of meat, tastiest sauce. Beef, lobster and shrimp dishes & Chicken wings also are big, choice, pieces, good quality meats, perfectly cooked! Can tell from the clean taste that they regularly change the oil in their fry machines. We love the wonton soup & pan fried wontons. They are filled with moist tender chicken. We have not had problems with wait time, but if there is a long wait time, it is probably because Imperial Wok is so popular & has a high volume of customers, including many regulars from YNHH. Food is decent. Customer service is so bad it eclipses any good food review. Young lady that answers the phone is very rude and has no customer service skills what-so-ever. Food is super expensive compared to any other chinese restaurant. Delivery takes for ever because they are so busy-so chances are that your food will be cold. To top it off young lady up front who I think is the owners daughter will decide wether they will deliver to you based on how she feels at the time with no reasons as to why or why not. If they mess up your order, good luck with them understanding and rectifying their mistake. Not worth ordering from. Owner should have a serious talk with her daughter and teach her phone etiquette and customer service. Was at one point one of my favorites but they have lost my business for good. I TRIED TO ORDER TODAY TO MY JOB AT JORDAN'S FURNITURE. THE LADY CLEARLY TOLD ME THAT SHE DOES NOT DELIVER TO JORDAN'S FURNITURE. I ASKED HER WHY BECAUSE WE JUST GOT DELIVERY HERE A WEEK AGO. SHE STATED THAT SHE HAS PERSONAL ISSUES WITH SOMEONE FROM HERE AND IT MUST HAVE BEEN SOMEONE ELSE WHO ANSWERED AND TOOK OUR ORDER. REGARDLESS, THAT IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL TO REFUSE SERVICE TO THE WHOLE JORDAN'S FURNITURE. HER PERSONAL ISSUE WITH ONE PERSON HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME AND MY ORDER, BUT NOW YOUR COMPANY HAS LOST MONEY FROM JORDAN'S FURNITURE DUE TO YOUR YOUNG ASIAN-AMERICAN WORKER WHO IS REFUSING SERVICE TO ALL OF US BECAUSE OF A PERSONAL ISSUE.
