What a pleasant surprise. Stopped in New Hope on the way back from elsewhere up north. Wanted to eat and was about to skip all the typical stuff along the street, the tourists etc. and go back home to NJ. Happened to see that this spot is now a new spot and decided to check it out to avoid the crowds and bad music at the other places. Lately everywhere I eat anywhere is underwhelming or completely disappointing. So glad that I decided to walk up the block to explore and try this out.
Excellent burger. Cooked perfectly. Seasoned fries are unique and really tasty. Next time I will try some of the other menu items.
Nice to see some non mainstream drinks offered also, they have Boylans and some other stuff. Too many eateries, even 'unique' ones simply get Coke products. It kills everything else they offer. If someone is eating at your "unique" local/vegan/artisinal whatever eatery, they're fine with no Coke products! You can get that garbage anywhere. This place gets it right.
What really stands out is the staff and vibe here. Met one of the owners. Everyone is laid back and friendly, welcoming. Great simple decor and vibe. I ended up just sitting here for a while after I ate. Vibing to great music (Trombone Jones concert on the screen and pumped through their sound system). Other eateries and retail places take note: this is how you run an establishment. Create a vibe. Choose music unique to what is you. Don't just pump out bad pop or yacht rock/classic rock on a tinny sound system at too high a volume. Create something. Give the staff something to be enthusiastic about. The details matter, all of them. Everyone is so afraid to do things in a unique way or they just cater to the masses and hope for the best. Create a vibe and the right customer will come to you.
Highly recommended and I am coming back the next time...
Read moreSo. My family loves burger places so we were excited to try this spot in New Hope. Let's talk about the good first.
The atmosphere is fantastic. Warm Edison style lights, live edge tables and tile give the whole place a coze inviting feel. Modern LA hills style music is calming and good background music.
The food while good wasn't a huge standout. It's was.... good. Fries were cooked well and the burgers are decent sized. I could have done without the sweet style pickles, but to each his own. Hot dog was a decent size on a nice top split bun. However, the only mustard was a honey mustard blend that is great for chicken tenders but not as good for hot dogs.
And then there was the price. 3 cheeseburgers, hot dog, fries and 3 drinks were over $70 bucks. Just insane. I get it. New Hope is treated like a tourist trap, and there are post COVID inflationary issues, but those prices are insane.
But it's the little lol e things that drive you nuts. It's a QR code menu that you order from. I understand that we're in a modern age, but why do we needlessly have to use an app to order food when a billboard menu would do just fine. The guy at the register is literally watching us place an order on our phone. You don't need my data. Take our order like a normal person. Then after you've placed your own order you then get the option of tipping, which I might add starts at 20%!
I get this is the new normal, but it drives me insane. Plus, I think the guy behind the counter may have been high or something because he couldn't seem to hold a conversation or answer the simplest if questions.
It's a decent place if you have to go, but there is nothing here that makes me want...
Read moreWe just moved to the area and were excited to try this place after a friends recommendation. To our disappointment, the service was horrible and quite rude but more disappointing was the burger and hotdog which was mediocre at best. To start, we walked in to find who we believe was a manager counting money at the order window, I waited and watched as she finished. No hello or I’m sorry I’ll be right with you. Totally distracted she proceeds to take our order, needles to say the order came out missing some toppings. When I go back up to the window to address it, I find her once again counting money but this time she says go ahead I can hear you, no eye contact just plain rude. To add insult to injury, the toasted bun was cold, the fries room temperature and the hotdog undercooked. As we sat there and tried to get through our meal all we could do is hear this same manager person complain to the workers that she needed to speak with …(I’m guessing the owner) bc they were over staffed and not generating enough during the week to support everyone on staffed during the wknds, then she proceeded to ask everyone for a dollar so she could pay them their earnings from the day prior. I mean can you be any more unprofessional and tacky. I get it’s a small place but mayb a better time to have those conversations is after hours or prior to opening, customers don’t need to hear that kinda stuff especially after spending $60+ dollars. Perhaps it was an off day, it happens, but we Will never go back and definitely would...
