The service is terribly awfully bad. We went to this place for our company holiday party last Friday 12/21. The server was terrible! She moved very slow and was so elegant that she could wave “no” to us while we tried to get her attention. We told her specifically that we needed drinks for everyone at the same time so we can have our company’s announcement and toast. Not only the drinks didn’t come as requested, it came half way the table then stopped for at least 30 minutes then it came to the other half, alternately like this for hours. We didn’t order any fancy drinks. It was mostly beer and wine, except me who ordered sangria. Finally we needed to pour beer between glasses to make sure everyone has drink and we toasted. Nobody cares to clear our table, there were finished appetizer plates and empty glasses everywhere. I was thirsty and had to drink from other people’s water. Nobody cares to refill the water for us. While ordering the main course I asked the server what is Cloppino preparation? She began to read the ingredients. I told her I just want to know the preparation. She stopped me and said “I am telling you right now” then started to read all the ingredients in the menu again. Luckily, she gave me the last sentence saying they are coming in one pot. Thanks a lot. I know how to read the ingredients myself. I have never encountered any rude and slow services like this. When the main course came, everyone got the food except one person next to me. We couldn’t start to eat if everyone doesn’t have their food. It’s common sense, isn’t it? So we waited and waited till our food started to be cold. The food came at last, but now all of us were having cold dinner except one person next to me. Lastly, the service charge were included in our bill. How could you possibly think you should get the tips while did this such a terrible job! We didn’t want to ruin more our time during the party so I avoided to say a word with her or anyone. But this is awfully bad. If I don’t say anything, you guys wont know how’s poorly service your server did to us. Please be careful to come...
Read moreAtmosphere: B It was very nice, great location. If you're up there make sure to take a walk around, it's a very nice area. Inside the restaurant it's also very nice. You can choose from indoor or outdoor seating and both seem comfortable. When we went for father's day they had an open mic night. It was fun to listen to the live music but the stage is only visible from the bar area.. half the restaurant can't see the band/singer!
Food: C Very fresh produce, which was nice but the food is'nt all there... My husband got the filet minion and he said it was a bit fatty, but the vegitables were prepared nicely. I got the Duck entrée (it was a special night so we decided to be fancy-pantsed). It was nicely cooked but was missing the foie gras mousse that the menu said I'd be getting. I was pretty disappointed by that since I am a fan of liver and was excited to have that little addition to my plate....not to mention that I paid for it. We also got the calamari which was WONDERFULLY prepared -not tough or greasy at all, and the mediterranean plate which has hummus olive tapenade carrots and pita (which I thought was quite overpriced at $10 for the small amount you got ...the ingredients are not expensive and its easy to make so the price was a bit annoying). The desserts left MUCH to be desired but oh well... My dessert also had the same issue as my dinner, it was missing two ingredients (berries and walnuts)! Either way we enjoyed the food.
Service: A+ Service was great! Very nice waitress.
Beer: C I can't drink (I'm pregnant) but my husband said the beer was somewhat mediocre. I gave them a "C" though because they brew their own and if you like triumph beer you will like their selection...obviously..
Overall we most likely won't be going back. We won't discourage people from going though. With a fun atmosphere and a tasty looking pub menu (they have a great casual menu which I'd suggest getting instead of the fancy stuff) it's a nice place to visit and hang out. Also, they have 2...
Read moreMy wife and I met our friends at the Triumph Brewery in New Hope on October 1, 2022. It’s in a group of stores on Union Square Drive, right off of Bridge Street. It’s actually a fine location as it sits across the tracks form the historic New Hope Railroad, also known as the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad. The train station is charming, and currently adorned with Halloween decorations.
We would have loved to have eaten outside, but the weather was not cooperative. No matter, the inside is very accommodating with plenty of space between tables so you can feel comfortable eating inside if that is a concern. There are 2 floors, and we ate upstairs by the window, with a lovely view of the railroad.
Our waiter was Ray, and he could not have been nicer or provided better service. When it came to ordering beer, his recommendations were spot on. He even offered to let me get a taste and told me if I didn’t like the beer that he would drink it. He helped make the afternoon fun and was always around if we wanted something. I ordered the Octoberfest beer, by the way, and it was excellent and just the right temperature.
My friend and I ordered the bacon cheeseburgers with fries, which were very good. Our wives ordered salad with salmon, which they enjoyed. It’s farm-raised salmon and the salad portion could have been larger, TBH, but overall, no complaints. It’s a child-friendly restaurant/pub.
The bill with four meals and three 16-ounce beers came to about $150 including tip, which Ray richly deserved. After our meal, we walked a block down the street to the center of New Hope, which is a wonderfully charming town with interesting and fun shoppes, art galleries, and other places to eat. We love going there and I bought a vintage Beatles T-shirt!
We will definitely go back to Triumph. It’s out go-to place in...
